Hyatt Place Las Vegas at Silverton Village

I am writing to share a very disappointing experience during my recent stay at Hyatt Place Las Vegas at Silverton Village on April 3, 2026 (check-in around 4:00 PM). As a returning guest and loyal Hyatt member, I had previously stayed at this property a few months ago and was offered a reasonably priced upgrade to a corner king suite for $10, which I appreciated. Based on that positive experience, during this check-in I simply asked whether a similar upgrade option was available and what the cost would be if I chose to take it. The front desk associate initially informed me that the hotel was fully booked and that no other rooms were available. After completing check-in and going up to my room, I checked the Hyatt app and found that rooms were still available for my stay dates. While my originally booked two-queen room type was now sold out (so I could not verify its rate), standard king rooms were still available for approximately $163 per night, and the preferred corner king suite I had inquired about was also available at around $182 per night. I returned to the front desk to clarify. At that point, the explanation became inconsistent. I was told the associate needed to check with a manager, and after doing so, she came back with a $55 upgrade fee. This did not align with the actual rate differences shown in the app (less than $20 between available room types), and it felt less like a genuine attempt to assist and more like a way to discourage the request. We then spoke with another staff member, who appeared surprised by the $55 upgrade fee given the situation. Shortly after, another team member who identified himself as “Brian” approached us. Instead of addressing the concern professionally, he stated that because we booked using points, our reservation held less value, and emphasized that it was a busy weekend and they were not concerned about selling rooms. He then asked whether we still wanted to stay at the hotel. This interaction was particularly disappointing. The tone was dismissive and unprofessional—especially toward a loyal guest. At no point did we feel valued. Instead, we felt pushed away and treated as if our presence was inconvenient. This is not the standard I expect from Hyatt. The lack of transparency, inconsistent communication, and dismissive attitude—particularly at the very start of our stay—completely undermined the beginning of our trip. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. This situation is not about the upgrade itself, but about professionalism, honesty, and how guests are treated. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below expectations and left a lasting negative impression.

Very tasty and selection was good and fresh. Area was maintained very clean and attentive by staff!

Probably the best Hyatt Place I have stayed. The place is great if you were here for the national parks, not the strip. The room is clean and staff are friendly and helpful.

The hotel was modern, comfortable and the rooms are a nice size. I appreciated the quieter location away from the chaos of the Strip and just south of the airport. There is a pool and lovely sitting areas in the lobby.

Outstanding Hyatt Place. Very comfortable, modern and clean. Room was very well laid out and exactly like photos. Was concerned about staying at a Hyatt Place in Vegas but this was clearly the right choice!! Definitely would and will stay again! No it’s no on the strip but an easy Lyft/Uber ride away. Starbucks close by and easy from the airport. Free parking is also a big plus!

The Hyatt at Silverton is exceptional. Clean, comfortable and the staff is extremely friendly. The location is convenient to both the airport and the Las Vegas strip.

Beautiful hotel, great staff, nice breakfast. We like the peacefulness of this place, away from the busy streets of Las Vegas, easy free parking outside the hotel. A beautiful lobby to relax.
