DoubleTree by Hilton South Charlotte Tyvola

I did not stay at the hotel, but I used the parking and airport shuttle service managed by staff at DoubleTree by Hilton Charlotte Tyvola, and the experience was completely unacceptable. The transfer from the airport to the hotel took 1 hour and 30 minutes, when this trip should normally take 10–15 minutes. I called at 3:00 PM and was told the shuttle was “right nearby.” In reality, I did not arrive until 4:30 PM. The delay was caused by poor decision-making by a hotel employee responsible for managing the shuttle fleet. When we were already very close to the hotel, she instructed the driver to turn around, unnecessarily extending the trip and wasting a significant amount of time. When I later went to ask for an explanation, I was offered no compensation whatsoever, only justifications. The attitude was condescending and dismissive, and I felt genuinely humiliated by the way I was treated — especially as an immigrant customer simply asking for a reasonable explanation. Because this service is managed by the hotel, I can only assume that guests relying on it may face similar issues. Had I known this in advance, I would have taken an Uber without hesitation. This experience reflects very poor management and lack of respect for customers.

Staff was really rude and unwelcoming. The shower door wouldn’t stay shut so water would get everywhere and it smelt like cigarette smoke inside.

We had to stay overnight in Charlotte because our flight was delayed. The airline gave us several choices of hotels. We chose this hotel because of its good reputation. When we landed, we called the hotel for the shuttle. We were told the shuttle would leave in 10 minutes and he would send a link so we could track the shuttle. He never told us where to wait. After half an hour and no shuttle, we called the hotel 5 times and were told the shuttle would be there in 6 minutes. Finally, after about 2 hours, the shuttle arrived at 12:30am. Will not stay at a Doubltree again.

When we got there the supervisor Jake couldn’t seem to find our reservation then he found it but it was only for 1 night when I booked for two but he then seen the company I booked through made a mistake and quickly fixed it for me. Fast forward we got to our room and it was robbed which wasn’t what I had booked for . I paid for a king room which was more money then what they gave us , I then went to the lobby and explained it to Mr Jake he then fixed it yet again and gave us a upgrade on the room and it was beautiful!! This is my favorite hotel to book at and I would love to keep continuing to book here. A big shoutout to Jake for helping us !!

Mother had breakfast, she ate all, so i'm assuming it was good. The restaurant food was awesome!
