The location, the lake and the beach right there, accessible by walking. Very close to Forster.

No drink policy. The mattress was very hard.

Great Lake to swim in, kayak available to hire and bbq facilities!

The location was a bit secluded and not busy at all which made it a bit spooky. Also it is a bit further from town than other accommodations, with only one beach option nearby that was a bit unsafe to swim in

The tranquility, the camp was almost empty when we were there. the magnificent beautiful lake, kanoying, fishing, nice and helpful staff, very well equipped kitchen. Everything you need for cooking. Free laundry. Star gazing!

Friendly Staff: The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the staff. Every team member we interacted with at Camp Elim was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Their warmth and willingness to assist were evident throughout our visit, providing a personal touch that made a significant difference. Stunning Lake Views: The natural beauty surrounding Camp Elim is breathtaking. Our room offered a spectacular view of the lake, which was a serene and beautiful backdrop to our stay. The tranquility of watching the sunset over the water in the dusk was an experience in itself, offering moments of peace and contemplation.

Our recent family getaway to Camp Elim was anticipated with much excitement, envisioning a serene retreat surrounded by nature. Unfortunately, the reality of our stay did not live up to expectations, leading me to share our experiences for the benefit of others considering this location. Accommodation and Comfort The most striking issue we encountered at Camp Elim was the outdated state of the sleeping facilities. The accommodations felt dated, with beds and bedding that were far from comfortable, contributing to a series of restless nights for the entire family. My child, in particular, struggled to find any comfort, which significantly dampened our overall experience. A restful sleep is a cornerstone of a positive stay anywhere, and on this front, Camp Elim was lacking. Lack of Nearby Amenities The camp’s tranquility comes at the cost of accessibility to amenities. The distance to local conveniences in Forster meant that spontaneous decisions to eat out or quick trips for essentials were out of the question. For families like ours, looking for a blend of relaxation and convenience, the camp’s location posed significant challenges. Overall Impression Our stay at Camp Elim was overshadowed by the uncomfortable and dated sleeping arrangements and the logistical difficulties presented by its secluded location. While the camp's setting could offer a peaceful getaway under different circumstances, the lack of modern comfort and the inconvenience of accessing nearby amenities detracted from our enjoyment.
