The Gates Hotel South Beach

It was old & outdated. The furniture was dirty, scratched up & old. The refrigerator was in the bathroom. The outdoor chairs were old, dirty & cracked.

The hotel is clean, tidy and very well located on south beach. It’s. 20 min walk to the famous ocean drive along a well lit boardwalk or via the main road. The staff were friendly. Helpful and couldn’t do enough to help during our stay. You get free use of the beach beds and umbrellas which are a 5 min walk from the hotel which is excellent, however if it’s windy they refuse to put up umbrellas despite other people having theirs up which can make it unpleasant in the very hot Miami weather, so bear that in mind especially if you don’t cope well in hot weather or have children with you. The pool was drained for the last 2 days of our stay, not sure why. If you have a late checkout like we did, they have luggage store and you can shower in the gym, the shower room was excellent with clean towels, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, there was a hairdryer in there and a plug socket for things like your hair straighteners. Would fully recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

We had a good overall stay at The Gates Hotel South Beach. The location is convenient and the hotel atmosphere was pleasant. However, we felt that the resort fee was quite expensive for what was offered. We would especially like to mention Carlos from the front desk, who checked us in. He was extremely kind, friendly, and very helpful throughout our stay.

What a wonderful hotel, if your on a budget this hotel is the best choice. The staffs are friendly and helpful; specifically Carlos. Thanks for answering all my questions. The room is clean and comfortable. Atmosphere feels good smells good too. Only down part is the pool is closed for renovation the week I’m staying that is. My room is pretty spacious with 2 beds good for a family and solos

We had a Great experiece at the Gates Hotel. Good facilities, room cleanliness and services. Site staff is friendly and full available to help you resolve any need. We would like to highlight bellman Bob, he was very helpful and always available to assist. Hotel location is great!

Great design. Great lobby area. Can see it was recently built and owned by a reputable hotel chain. Comfy beds.

Maintenance poor. Broken and damaged room interiors. Very unclean rooms and pool. Activities advertised in elevators not happening.
