Hoi An Legend Connect Villa

The location (although at the beginning difficult to find) was pretty good. Not in the touristy center but in OK walkable distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Free bottles of water were provided, A/C worked. Free bicycles (although not in well shape) were for rent.

The room was not really clean. Some edges seemed to be not cleaned for a long time. The fridge was dirty. The shower in the bathroom had no covers or special floor, so the water was everywhere and stayed there - the flooor was dirty too. The breakfast was a bit simple but overall okay.

We had small issues with our room - dead cockroach and stained bed sheets when we checked in. This wasn’t a massive deal for us as we were just tired and wanted to sleep. Our main issue came when we found a bat in our room. We found it hard to contact the staff and when we did get through we were told the owner was coming to sort it out. The owner did not come, it was a man staying in the building that was sent up to see if he could help. We were told it had probably left as he couldn’t see it. We asked if there was another room as we knew it was still in the room and were told that wasn’t an option. Neither me or my partner felt safe staying in the building as everything we had read said to leave the room due to bats being a carrier of rabies and we knew it was still in the room. Because of this we opted to find somewhere else to stay for the night as it was gone 1am and we weren’t left with much choice - the man hadn’t caught the bat at this point. He later caught the bat but this was after we had paid to stay somewhere else and even though he had caught it there was no saying it wouldn’t just come back in via the gap between the ledge and ceiling like it did the first time. When we came to drop the keys back there wasn’t much sympathy or a proper apology, we asked if it was possible to get a refund for that one night and we were told no. Which I think is completely unfair as our safety was not prioritised, we felt our concerns were dismissed. Since leaving we have been told by doctors to get the post exposure rabies shots as there is no telling if the bat was in the room the night before ect. I appreciate it is not necessarily their fault a bat came into the room but how they handled the situation was not professional and ultimately appalling.

We had a wonderful stay at Legend Connect. Hien our host was so kind and friendly, helping us to book transport and a lantern making workshop at good prices. The room was comfortable and clean and there was a good range of tasty breakfast options. The location was perfect for our needs - quiet and peaceful, and only a short 5-10 minute walk from the centre of town, or you can borrow bikes from the guesthouse for free! And as a bonus, it’s next to the best banh mi place in Hoi An, Phi Banh Mi, which we visited every day during our stay!

Bathroom door was hard to close due to it being bent and the sink wasn’t draining very well.

Pulita, centralissima e ben servita. La host si è presa cura di ogni nostra esigenza, dal taxi notturno visto che avevamo aereo per andare via alle 5 del mattino, fino ai consigli per vedere un bello show sulla storia di Hoi An.
