Sea Crest Beach Resort

Off season delight!! While the weather was a bit cold & windy, the resort was wonderful. All staff from front desk, to gift shop to the Lantern Restaurant were fantastic. While the pizza shop, & ice cream stand were understandably closed for the season, we lacked for nothing. Food was fantastic. We had breakfsst, snacks, drinks & dinner there & we weren't disappointed. Room was very clean & comfortable. We had an ocean front king. Bed was very comfortable. Plenty of space to hang clothes. Plenty of towels & nice toiletries too.

I had a waterfront room that was very clean. I totally enjoyed the view, especially the sunsets. My only complaint was the noise from the heater that was a little irritating at times. The front desk staff was very pleasant and accommodating and the housekeeping staff were awesome,

Everything was wonderful at the Sea Crest with one exception….the room was pleasant with a great view, the food provided by the hotel for our workshop was outstanding, as was the restaurant. But the hoards of 7 year old ice hockey players running around the main building from Friday night to Sunday morning, screaming at the top of their lungs, with little regard for anyone else walking around, and a badly behaved group of them in the restaurant on Friday evening, really spoiled the otherwise peaceful and rejuvenating experience. I believe there should be at least some standard of behavior set for groups of this type staying at the hotel. It’s not acceptable.

From check-in to check-out I felt welcomed and cared for. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My room was impeccably clean, and appeared to be recently updated. It retained that "seashore charm" while still including modern amenities. Everything worked - the charging ports, the coffee machine, the refrigerator (which was larger than a typical hotel room fridge). In the morning I walked on the beach. I was there for a church retreat, and we were provided for amply with several rooms for the activities. If you plan to come, just be forewarned - it is STILL the cape, so if you choose to dine on site, it is on the steep side. We were able to find local restaurants that were very reasonable.

Please put a broom in the rooms to clean up sand. And maybe a small microwave.

Beautiful place on a great beach but beware . . . November is cold on the Cape. The wind was blowing about 50 mph making the stay very hard to bear.

It was beautiful. My room was clean, quiet and beautiful. Check-in was perfect. The beach was beautifully maintained.

Maybe they are understaffed, but service was just not present at all. Required numerous calls and visit to front desk to ask for room cleaning. Hallways dirty and overall a depressing experience. How can you mess up such a beautiful location?

The delay in checking in was frustrating, had to wait for hours for my room to be ready. After that, however, it was very nice. Excellent staff, dinner in the restaurant was very good, and the views on the beach were spectacular. The delay in checking in keeps me from giving it 5 stars.

I've stayed at this resort a couple times and in different rooms times. I will say that pretty much the only reason to come here specifically is the location. It is right on the beach and, during the off season, the beach is dog friendly. The rooms are generally fine, the food is generally fine, the staff is generally fine. None of this "fine" will help you beat the overwhelming sense that you are being ripped off. Several small adjustments would make the place feel much more luxurious and worth the price. 1) Put microwaves in the rooms. The fact that someone offered to put a microwave in the room for $25 really just added insult to injury. I'm already paying a resort fee, during the off season when there is absolutely no "resort" perk (no, I don't count parking or bottled water). I also don't want to hand my instant oatmeal to the front desk clerk to heat up for me. Give me a microwave. 2) The breakfast buffet. There are no food labels for anything that is out in the buffet. No allergy warnings, nothing to say whether the potatoes were vegetarian or if it was pork or turkey bacon. No one watching the buffet to make sure that, oh I don't know, teenage boys didn't touch literally every single bagel in that basket and put them back. It should also be an explicit no tipping zone. I sat myself. I got my own beverages. Got my own food. No one cleared my used dishes. Someone eventually came by to tell us that there were 2 different price points. But otherwise no actual service until someone brought the bill with a tip line on it. Put a tip jar for the waffle and omelet station and make a note that tips aren't expected. Pay your staff enough during the off season that they are fine without it. 3.) Nice bathrobes in the rooms. Nicer towels at the pool. A nice throw blanket that you can use on the couch or the outdoor space/balcony. "Resort" is in the name and in the fees you charge me. Why do you have Motel 6 quality towels? You have luxury pricing, give me some luxury! 4.) A small broom/dust pan in the rooms. There is sand everywhere within about 3 minutes of arrival. That comes with the territory. But include a small broom so that we can try to contain it and not track sand onto every inch of the room. Or perhaps a doormat so that we have the option of wiping our feet! 5.) The rooms in general. Some of the rooms I've been in are small, others large. Some have way too much large furniture and it overwhelms the large space. None of them have been pristine or particularly nice. My room this time had broken blinds, a missing closet door, a bathroom door that didn't close all the way, and towels and bedding with small stains on them. Is it terrible? No. Is it the type of room where I walk in and thing "oooo...this is nice"? Also, no.
