Really well located, close to everything. Reasonably priced in Ponta Delgada. We enjoyed our time there.

Nice property

We stayed at Casa do Marcado from June 19 to June 23, and it was the worst experience ever. The hallway reeked of sewage when we arrived. On June 21, we were forced out of our room due to a plumbing emergency. The staff moved our belongings to an adjacent room where our friends were staying. They offered us alternative rooms at lower-rated locations. When we refused, we were kicked out. This was an embarrassing experience that ruined our trip. Imagine walking the streets with all your stuff in bags, desperately looking for a hotel after being kicked out. Since it was peak season, almost everything was fully booked. The only available hotel cost double due to the last-minute booking. The staff at Casa do Marcado were unhelpful and unsympathetic. They did nothing to make up for the inconvenience and stress they caused us. The whole situation was a nightmare, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Avoid Casa do Marcado at all costs. Booking.com's customer service was equally terrible. Their chat service takes 24 hours to respond, which is useless in emergencies. They refunded us for the nights we didn't stay but refused to compensate us for the additional cost of the new hotel. They made every excuse not to honor our invoice, rejecting it because it was from Expedia and not directly from the hotel. After weeks of back and forth, they stopped responding altogether. Booking.com failed miserably to resolve the situation and left us to cover the full cost ourselves. I will never use Booking.com again and urge others to avoid them as well.

Definitely DO NOT recommend. The property is in a very bad condition, infested by termites and bugs. It badly needs renovation. I am really shocked how it falls under the 4 star hotel category in Google with an ‘Excellent’ 8.6 rating in Expedia. I have photos and videos of the termites/termite wings even after getting the room cleaned. The bathroom window would not shut completely (it needs to be reinstalled and sealed properly) which made it worse and all the bugs kept coming in. We requested for another room/building but there was no availability. The only good thing about this place is the responsiveness of the staff, they were nice and polite. Hugo was amazing and very helpful, helped us get another room for one night when the situation was very bad. Expedia should downgrade the rating of this property.

What was a disappointment was the one pager on termites which were present and we saw flying around, the shower that pooled water instead of draining and the rock hard pillows. All of these factors led to an uncomfortable stay and we regret booking this accommodation. We tried to ask for assistance with the drain and getting other pillows and it was not offered.

Was there 7 nights shower never drained well had to turn water on and off every 15 seconds it was ridicules talk to manager never did anything about it , place is very old outdated, I’ll never stay there again that’s for sure.

El alojamiento está céntrico. Como pegas, que nos tocó en el último piso y las escaleras están bastante empinadas. Lo de la cesta del desayuno, nosotros por ejemplo no teníamos espacio en la habitación para hacerlo y nos bajábamos al oficce

Clean and quiet space in a great central location. Excellent value for the price.
