Clear View Inn Independence

I never write reviews and I hate complaining about things but I just HAVE to leave this review cause I was blown away by how terrible this experience was. When we got there, there was no one at the desk to check us in. There was a sign with a number to call instead, so I called the number over and over again for over 15 minutes with no answer. One of the times we called, someone answered and then hung up without saying anything. When someone finally showed up they just acted like nothing happened, no apology or explanation, and they said “if you need anything, someone’s in the office 24/7” which was just funny to us at that point. We went to our room and it smelled like weed, smoke, and just plain dirty. There were cigarette ashes in the toilet paper holder, greasy fingerprints on the bed frame, random tape on the wall, a fly buzzing around, no trash can, and worst of all the bed sheets were covered in a sticky residue. They smelled clean but it left residue on your fingers so I think maybe they just spray the beds with disinfectant instead of washing them?? When I was checking for bedbugs (there weren’t any but I always check), I found dark brown stains on the mattress under 3 layers of sheets and mattress covers. My mom walked around the room in her socks just to go to the bathroom and the bottom of her socks were COVERED in black dirt. It was just so gross all around. I mean, I didn’t expect it to be perfect but it was WAYYYY worse than I expected it to be.

Very shady. The people staying above us were throwing fireworks on my car from up above. There was no soap and stains on all bedding.

The dirtiest and smelliest motel I have ever stayed in. A huge cockroach also joined us. Disgusting!! And as soon as we got there they charged us an extra $50 because they said Expedia didn’t charge enough. We had no choice but to pay it cause there were no other hotel rooms in the city.

It started with the staff giving our room, we previously paid for, to another person. We didn’t arrive until 1:00 am. But they had another room. The room was filthy. Comforter was dirty. The walls had stains everywhere. Very unsafe area. Coming from another state with my child for a huge concert, we were limited to places to stay. This was very misleading and we felt VERY unsafe. I could see holes thru the door near lock and handle. It was very evident the door had been kicked in before and not properly fixed. There were people lingering around outside during late hours. We left immediately the next morning and found a new hotel.

The overall rating of 6/10 on Hotels.com could not be more wrong. This hotel was in such bad shape and dirty. The security lock on our door was broken off, the towels were stained, the bedding had cigarette burns/holes, the pillows and sheets were stained, it stunk of cigarette smoke, and the floors were filthy and had dead bugs over by the door. Worst hotel I have stayed in, possibly ever. On top of that, there was a “mandatory” $50 charge. The only good thing about the entire stay was the lady at the front desk being so kind during check-in.

It was a scary property to stay at. Both me and my daughter felt very unsafe with the amount of people just lurking around. At one point their was a man standing directly outside of our door which made both of us very uneasy.

Hotel had a missing smoke detector. Trash in the hotel room when arrival. Sheets had filth on them and were not clean. Very limited supply of towels and toiletries in the room. Outlets in the walls didn’t work. Tv didn’t turn on. On the morning of 7/8 my friend and I woke up to someone shooting off fireworks at 3 am. We also had difficulty sleeping due to people shouting outside our door. An employee admitted that several rooms needed a smoke detector installed. Regardless of whether a person chooses to smoke or not, a smoke detector should be required to ensure safety of guests. Not the greatest experience. We will not be returning since we were dissatisfied with this property!

Door had a gap about a quarter inch. Bathroom had holes in the wall. Reeked of cigarette smoke. Bed skirt was disgusting. Blanket on bed had holes. Then they billed me an additional $50 a room and$100 deposit because i booked before they could jack their prices up before the Taylor swift concert.

Where do I start...Arrived passed 4pm and there were no 2 queen bed available for me despite the fact that I booked in November; 7months before my trip. Then I was told I had to pay an extra 50$ for miscellaneous fees that was implemented in May. Again, I had booked in November! The room was dirty. Some of the lamps weren't working. There was a bug on the pillow and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned.

I would not stay at this hotel again it was very under staffed they offer the pool in the booking but I was told it was closed later on was opened for other guess have some of there long term tenants knocking on my room door asking for my husband to kill spiders in there room it was not a peaceful stay to say the least
