Cypress Garden Hotel

I stayed here for two nights. The staff is very friendly and polite. The breakfast buffet is extensive, but don't expect European style, it is Asian, so a lot of warm dishes. The room was fine but the bed a little hard. The location is perfect. Very close to Kanayama station where you can take the subway directly to Sakae and for 21.000 yen for 2 nights a decent price.

Location: perfect from south exit of Kanayama station (5 min walk) Lobby: simplistic , minimalistic but staff are helpful and curteous Rooms: tiny with basic facilities and free wi-fi throughout Breakfast: good selection, fresh and one gets to sample local delights as well Environment: lots of food places around hotel, convenient mini-marts and cafes abound. Price: average

For its price, I was expecting the same or similar standard as near by Crown Plaza, however, it was just the same as Meitetsu or Washington, tipical business hotel for short stay, which was a bit of disappointment. It was very hard to carry suitcases to Kanayama station.

clean tidy and just a small walk from the train station room was tidy air con hope you like hotdogs and chips for breakfast saying that I enjoyed my stay the wifi was spot on not a bad word to say made my stay in japan very comfortable would be happy to use this hotel again

In order to save power the air con goes off once you leave the room. Hence every time I came back to the room is was like an oven and even leaving the air con at full blast overnight only took the temperature down to "hot". So big fail for that. And not limited to my room. Discussion with colleagues told me they had same experience. Rooms very small - single bed only. Clean but not very inspiring. Breakfast perfectly OK. Saving grace was that the room was cheap. Stay again - not if I can avoid it.

The hotel was very clean. The rooms were small but everything was neatly placed. The housekeeper did a great job cleaning room everyday. The reception was courteous. However, we struggled with English every now and then. But the staff did everything possible to answer the queries. The breakfast had continental and Japanese options. I stayed for one week and there were very few variations. The Wi-Fi was excellent (faster than most of the American hotels I stayed in). The hotel is conveniently located near Kanayama station and many restaurants in the vicinity. Overall, a great stay and will visit again if had an opportunity.

I stayed in the hotel on a very short two days official trip. Reached the hotel late night and I was impressed by the grand entrance of the hotel. Straight to the room to crash on the bed and relax. Room size was pretty good and view from 11th floor took my breath away. Simply it Wow! Room service was with the highest quality of courtesy and speed one expect from Japan Pretty large dining area and a great staff always ready to serve. We struggled a bit as we were not fluent enough in japaneese but none the less managed to get larger than life sandwiches for our breakfast As a conclusion pretty good place if the room rents are unde your budget Cheers!

I had some difficulty securing a hotel for a short trip to Nagoya with wife and daur=ghter as we booked very late. The usual branded ones were full and I was very apprehnsive about Japanese hotels which can be pigeon coops in size. My travel agent had helped book this. We were pleasantly surprised as we had a sizable room of almost 270 square feet which had 3 super singles and ample space. The only thing was that they did not allow early check in as we arrived about 9.00 am and check in was 3.00 pm. However for SGD $90/- we could have the room earlier which I paid for. The 4 nites inclusive breakfast was SGD $1290 inclusive of all taxes. Service was excellent but the highlight was breakfast buffett which was elegant and more than adequate with everything offered done well. There was both western and Japanese food and they varied it everyday. The hotel is about a 3 minute walk from the Kanayama train station where the fast train form the Nagoya airport pulls into and you cna get anywhere from there.

I stayed here 9 days and everithing has gone in the right way. It is very close to Kanayama station and very easy to reach from the Airport. In the surrounding area you can find whatever you need and any place of the city is easy to reach by underground or taxi. Rooms are ok, quite big and comfortable, as the bathroom. Very good the cleaning. The breakfast was quite good. Good the qualities of foods (Western and Japanese) and quite assorted. The personnel at reception was very kind and able to manage every needs very quickly.

I stayed in the Cypress Garden for one week this summer. For Japanese standards the rooms as well as the bathrooms are quite big and equipped with all you need. It is located close to the Kanayama station, which is one of the hearts of Nagoya city. This location makes the hotel very convenient in terms of getting around. Kanayama station is the main public transportation hub in Nagoya and subway brings you everywhere within a couple of minutes. A lot of restaurants, bars and shops are located in close proximity. Transfer from Centrair is possible by using the Meitetsu SuperExpress from Kanayama station (ca. 800 Yen, 25 Minutes transfer)
