El Cid Castilla Beach

Took over an hour to get food from room service. Check in took forever. Very nice hotel, very clean. Shower didn't drain very well but seems normal in Mexico.

We LOVED the gal that cleaned our room. Her name was Angelica. So friendly & accommodating.

Variety of dinner restaurants was good. All inclusive rates were a little high for the quality of the food.

A lot of things were an add on. Like A Latte, Guacamole and such.

The location in the Golden Zone right on the ocean is great. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. We did not care for the food, however. There are many peddlers and mariachi bands on the beach outside of the resort which isn’t unique to this hotel, but it can be a little overwhelming if you’re trying to relax.

Location is the only good thing about this place. Hotel is old and it shows. Bed mattresses and pillows are hard and uncomfortable. When getting ready for bed pulled down comforter and sheets on bed were disgustingly stained. when we asked for them to be changed there was about a 20 min wait in sending someone up it was probably about nine in the evening and we were tired from a long day of travel and just wanted to go to bed, but finally someone came up to change them. That person said that that was normal and they are told to still use those sheets on the beds. We also had another instance in one of their restaurants of dirty table placemats that were used on the table we sat at and were told they were washed that morning and those are just stains and we’re OK to use. We told them to take them off the table and we would not use them. Food quality is mediocre. Staff members seem to not be well trained in customer care for the hospitality industry, making guests wait excessively for things when there should not be a wait. We will not be coming back to this resort.

Very nice staff. Food was good and the service was great. No problems getting around the hotel.

I thought the buffet was adequate but wished they had a taco/burger bar at the pool areas. The restaurants were exceptional. The employees were very kind and attentive. We will be back again.

The pool area was huge and jumping off the rocks into the water was a highlight. We reserved five restaurants during our stay and the dishes were all delicious, unique and presented favourably. And the check-out was stress-free with no hidden charges; which we’ve dealt with at other resorts over our years of travel.

Food was good and varied. Staff loud in the hallways… didn’t get a promised tequila bottle when checking out… “out of stock”
