Best Western Plus Paper Valley Hotel

I had a 10-day trip across three states and 5 different accommodations. Overall, the Wingate was the best. Four out of the five included breakfast and this one was the best breakfast (although the fruit offered unfortunately did not include bananas). The bed was the most comfortable, and the shower (pressure and temperature) was the best of the five provided. The air con was not the quietest but certainly near that end of the spectrum. The staff were friendly and concerned about the laundry problem mentioned below, though they didn't seem to have a solution in the time I was there.

The main negative was that the guest washing machine died in the middle of my batch (before the rinse) on my first day. I was able to rinse and wring out the small batch in the restroom down the hall and then successfully use the dryer. The washing machine had an "out of order" on it for the rest of my stay. The motel was undergoing some renovations and there were occasionally tools/materials left at the end of the hallway at times and the cherry-picker required for external painting took up some spots in the car park, but there was little noise or issues. There were some dirty/dusty areas in the ground level hallway and just inside the entrance at times, but nothing serious.

The room was clean, except for a couple of places. A hair was in the sink when we arrived. There was also a couple of pieces lint(?) in the bathtub. One lampshade on the bedside table looked worn/dirty. Staff was very friendly. Elevator floor was dirty at check-in and again the next morning. Some breakfast items were either unavailable or only available at the front desk. The potatoes were inedible. The hotel is going under renovations, so that may have accounted for some things. We stayed 1 night. Safe area. Easy access to I-41.

The hotel is under construction so aspects like the main lobby were new and well maintained. The first room they assigned us had a dysfunctional door but that was quickly remedied. The room was a disappointment but what really mattered (the bed) was fine. We could hear people walking above us past midnight and neighboring showers sounded like they were in our room. The bathroom sink and shower were neglected and there was mold on the edges of the bathtub. That said, it was clean otherwise and the bed was extremely comfortable. The front desk person was very accommodating and friendly.

Disgustingly dirty hotel room. The package of soap was open and used. We left and went across the street to Hampton Inn. DO NOT STAY HERE
