The staff were charming, attentive and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were good although the menu was unadventurous and fairly expensive. Rooms were comfortable but our first bathroom was awkward and had a number of defects.

Overall the hotel is almost oppressively victorian with its heaily patterened wallpapers and limited lighting. It lacks a lift and getting around requires going upstairs and downstairs to access the hotel facilitius. It is not well suited to octogenarians!

Our room was really big and tastily decorated. A comfortable room . Very nice to get biscuits and a couple of chocolates in our room to have with our hot beverages. Staff were very helpful.
