Ios Palace Hotel & Spa

We loved this hotel, however the rooms and definitely the bathrooms need an update and thorough cleaning. While the fitness room is adequate it is so hot it makes working out difficult. I asked the front desk manager to find a fan and she never followed through with me. It was tiny and probably 95 degrees. The air unit is facing a wall not the fitness cardio machines. If you are looking for a beach front quiet resort with a very kind staff choose this. Many many good restaurants within a few minutes walking.

Excellent hotel

Where do I start. The hotel its self is very nice. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The room is well appointed and modern considering its Greece. We travel to Greece every year and split our month long vacation between the main land and the islands. We landed via the port and drove to the hotel. I am not one to complain and understand that this is Greece not Manhattan. I only book hotels with parking on the property to make it convenient for us. We used GPS to find the hotel and were taken down a very narrow steep poorly maintained road with steep inclines and sharp curves. Thinking the gps made a mistake we called the hotel and were advised we were at one of the parking sites. I have no issue driving in greece as I have been doing it for years. This road was unsigned and I considered it dangerous by my standards. We were unable to locate the parking lot and called the hotel. We were given the name of a restaurant by the staff to enter on our gps to locate the parking lot. We were told at that time we could park at the current location but when we asked the distance from our location the hotel was we were told it was not far but when the location of an alternate parking lot that we were given it turned out the distance was over 1.5 kms away. When we researched this hotel we were assured that parking was close to the hotel. I and never stayed at a location advertising the parking on site over a Km away. Unacceptable and we felt as we were victims of a fraud. We again began our downward decent on a very poorly maintained road that caused our vehicle to bottom out several times. Once we drove to the land mark restaurant provided by the staff we had to call again and request directions as there were no signs for directions to a parking lot. We had to be guided by staff to locate a parking lot that was near but not close to the hotel that was very steep and small. We were with another couple in a second vehicle and only found one parking spot. The parking in the area is very limited. Luckily we waited and a parked vehicle eventually left and our friends got a parking spot. The hotel is a larger hotel with very limited parking. When we questioned the staff about the parking we were advised that we could park off the hotel site at public parking lot 300 meters away. I asked why we needed to do this when the hotel advertised parking on site. Ridiculous! If you are handicapped or have health issues preventing you from walking or doing many stairs this is not the hotel for you. This is the first time we experienced this and felt defrauded as per the hotel description on booking. Having ranted about something as silly as parking. The grounds are nice and the rooms are clean. Having a knee issue at the time of our arrival and the parking situation caused me great agitation and anger feeling we were mislead. If you are young healthy and don’t need parking I would rate this hotel 5 out of 5. Having said this as a middle aged man with a walking issue driving a car to the location stay away.

Welcome and competent staff, helpful and pleasant. Rooms all sea view. Ios palace has a «boutique hotel» side with its alleys in pure Greek style. 2 beautiful swimming pools uncrowded. Very nice beach and not noisy. Sea of exceptional clarity. Hearty breakfasts and impeccable service. Clean and air-conditioned room. Nights windows open on very quiet bay. Special mention has all the staff, Yota, Sandy and Marilena and especially to Dimitrios the director «booking manager» available and efficient. Chora city accessible by bus or taxi is 8 minutes. Many restaurants and clubs popular with the younger. Mylopotas bay has restaurants including the famous Drakos famous for its grilled fish.

This is a really lovely hotel. Great location near the beach and great restaurants. The main pool is lovely, very clean with very comfortable sun beds. The breakfast is truly lovely with lots of choices to suit everyone’s needs. We didn’t eat or drink much at the hotel other than breakfast as there are so many good restaurants on the doorstep which were excellent and more competitively priced. The staff are professional, helpful and friendly. We had a classic room with a sea view which we felt was adequate and a little tired and dated, but that maybe was more to our taste than any fault of the hotel. It would have been nice to have tea/coffee facilities in the room. However, overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

I think the property is super overrated, you pay just for the view, room very old and ALL the hotel has a terrible problem with a reflux of sewage on drains, yes you room will be smelling sewage doesn’t matter what room you stayed, i request twice to change rooms so i just gave up, also you need take two elevators and walk stairs to get in your room, they have a salt water pool and a very nice view, also the sauna is supposed to be free but they try charge you €20 just say you wont pay. In a overall i would give a 6,5 rate, but definitely not Worth the $1700 for 5 nights ( also they charges €7 per night as a “government fee” what is insane.

The whole resort was beautiful, easy access to the beach, two pools, spa next to our room, hotel staff were allllll professional and amazing, hotel restaurant needs a bit more work with their food variety, but nevertheless, good. We had a fantastic three nights and the balcony was perfect!!!!! We would recommend a coffee machine and iron in the rooms through.

Paid hotel driver 35 mins late for pick-up in stifling heat. Unforgivable. No lights, no traffic and no excuse or apology. All others in our group were picked up and taken to their cheaper hotels. Ours eventually arrived with no sign or name amongst 300 people boarding the ferry we arrived on. " really"
