Aberdeen Douglas Hotel

Frühstück war hervorragend. Full scottish breakfast.

The hotel’s location is very good, with convenient access to the airport, close to main streets and shopping centers, and relatively near the old town, which can be reached on foot. The breakfast is generous and tasty, although the dishes are always the same.

The rooms are very small. In the evening, it is somewhat noisy until midnight because of the nearby bars. The windows are opaque, probably because the view is not very nice.

Convenient location not far from station to walk and it was close to places like the maritime museum. It was clean and our room had a bath ( rare these days) in a bathroom with walls ( no see-through screens that seem common in hotels at the moment ). Nice lounge and bar area looked pleasant, Good value for price paid. Can’t comment on breakfast as I did not have it. Reception staff very helpful.

The staff were very friendly and helpful when several issues came up. The lobby area was also very nice.

The place is very dated and worn. The first room I got smelled of smoke, so I was moved to an apartment round the corner. The apartment was large but I discovered a lot of hair in the bed, which was disappointing. The apartment was also very dated, with sockets hanging out of the walls and windows that were very hard to close. It was also VERY noisy from the street outside - especially during the weekend but also every noise from the hallway outside could be heard as if it was in the actual apartment. I slept poorly every night and had to go and buy earplugs to get some sleep. I could barely hear the tv over the noise from the street on the Saturday evening as the street is very central and lively at weekends.
