The Salem Inn

Loved the antiquity of the place. It was dog friendly and clean. The staff was nice. The complementary breakfast was charming and just what we needed with amazing staff. I loved the Quiche Lorraine. The location is the best. Everything is close by and you can even see attractions outside the windows from the room!

A couple was arguing in the room next door for an hour and I couldn't sleep because it was triggering my dogs. I was scared they would bark. There were four sets of stairs up to the room and with dogs we ended up going up and down those stairs like 15 times a day. I should have complained about the yelling people but I didn't know who to contact.

The location is unbeatable. I love that it's a Historic Hotel. The Vibes are amazing.

My charger block kept falling out of the electrical outlet.

Excellent guest house. Well located to downtown area and everything touristy was within walking distance. Guest house was very comfortable and spacious. Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was freshly cooked. Really enjoyed Saturday night complimentary drinks. Excellent communication app and all arrangements were smooth and professional. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at The Salem Inn.

Spacious room with kitchenette and bathroom! Peabody house on 1st floor did not disappoint. Brings you back to the old days. Breakfast was a nice touch and you had a choice in selection. Check in and out was smooth. Great location for walking around Salem! Would stay there again.

We were on first floor but I could imagine going up the stairs being difficult for heavy luggage.

The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and had an updated bathroom. I was very happy with it. It even had a balcony, with a small table and chairs, that was shared with the next room. Also, at the rear of the parking lot there was a small archway, and it looked like beyond it there was another beautiful place to sit. However, I didn't actually get close enough to investigate. The location of the Curwen House was great--within walking distance of museums and shopping without being in the middle of the very busy parts of Salem. I appreciated the free parking lot in the rear of the house. I also appreciated the friendly staff that served me breakfast--very nice people. The breakfast itself was hot and delicious! One reason why I stayed at the Curwen House was that it was an old house (built circa 1854) and I LOVE antiquey kinds of things. It did not disappoint! Beautiful architecture on the outside and 19th century style decor on the inside (but with updated amenities). I loved the environment!

I have just minor complaints: The breakfast was in a separate building, The Salem Inn. It was a short walk, but it would've been nice to have breakfast delivered to the Curwen House (which I would've preferred, but that's just me). Secondly, I needed to switch my original reservation, which was for the second floor, to the first because I have arthritic knees and it would've been difficult to climb the steep stairs with my luggage. They changed my reservation without any trouble. However, once I arrived, I noticed that to get in the Curwen House directly from the parking lot, I had to climb an outdoor staircase of 9 steps with my luggage. It wasn't until later that I noticed there was another entrance with a ramp. It would've been nice if someone had told me about the ramp when I called them on the phone. Finally, streaming services are used under YOUR account. I noticed that the account of the previous occupant of my room was still there. I could've used it had I been a dishonest person. However, I deleted their account and put in mine. Wouldn't you know that when I checked out, I forgot to delete my account! I was worried about movies being charged to me by the room's next occupant. I texted the Curwen House a day later when I realized I had forgotten, and they responded that they would check to see if mine was still there and delete it if so. I'm waiting for confirmation. Oh, FYI, you can only reach staff by texting them. There was no front desk at the Curwen House, just at the Salem Inn.

Great location. Beautiful suite with convenient kitchenette. Comfy beds. Incredible delicious breakfast, made to order. Friendly staff.
