"Wonderful stay"

10.0

9th holiday to Paphos and first time staying at this hotel as we normally book B&B or self catering. Booked last minute - sea/pool view. On arrival we were greeting with face cloths and refreshing drinks. The room we booked wasn’t avail until the next afternoon and we were given complimentary late checkout for the inconvenience which was welcomed. We arrived near midnight so we didn’t care where we slept that night! Both rooms we stayed in were newly refurbished - spotless and had everything you could want - the double sinks separate from the toilet and wet shower room is a great change! Cons - The shower unfortunately went from boiling hot to cold off and on our entire week and our 12 year old had a camp bed which creaked loudly when moving in bed. That’s the only downsides of the room. Hotel full of large wedding parties - unfortunately some thought they owned the hotel - very loud and no regard for other holidaymakers. Large queue for sunbed allocation - would be best to auto allocate beds at check in. Pan Asian restaurant- food was exceptional but unfortunately the waiting time for food was incredibly long - we walked out before the desert. Other tables had complained about the wait. Couldn’t get booked into any other restaurants for the week as fully booked. Pros - refurbed rooms stunning - Carmen was our maid , lovely lady and did a wonderful job - the turn towns at night were a lovely touch! Beds super comfy but the camp bed for our child wasn’t - as mentioned before. Great big TV and Netflix was a wee bonus! When weddings were on - most days into the night - the noise was completely fine from our room with the sliding doors closed - we stayed in room 3122 and had a lovely sunny balcony P.M Plenty of sunbeds - although we know Cyrpus is a bit quieter just now because of what’s happening in the world. All staff we encountered were so helpful and pleasant. Snackeria was brilliant- food and snack delicious. Buffet main restaurant the best AI we’ve been to. Different theme every night . The only downside is that the food wasn’t hot - was warm (ish). Waiting staff at the main piano room and outside terrace were lovely and often had a nice wee chat. Cocktails are delicious! The smell throughout the hotel was lovely - they have air purifiers with diffusers and the comfort they use for washing smelled great . Would definitely return. Thanks for a great holiday Olympic Lagoon. P.s over our time holidaying in Paphos - we know most of the cats along the coastal walk to the harbour. It’s lovely to see other tourists treat the cats with kindness. If you stay at Olympic Lagoon - please show some love to the resident cats at the path on the beach - they’ve been there for years and we love them dearly! Photos attached of Baluga and Ori.

"Inadequate Hotel"

4.0

We holidayed at The Olympic Lagoon, myself, hubby & 18yr old daughter to take part in my cousins wedding, which I can honestly say was fantastic, faultless But … Upon arrival we were shown to our room. We had booked Deluxe twin room with see view. We were given a double room with a battered camp bed. Having my 18 yr old daughter staying in our room was the reason we paid extra for a suite. It then just got progressively worse, after 2 days in the room we had the toilet blocked which then came through into the shower, the smell was just delightful!!! Reception were rang X3 times & after just over an hour I physically walked down to the desk to make the complaint which at that point no one had still not reported it. This issue carried on to be a problem over the 7 days we stayed & so did the SMELL. To say our room wasn’t ’guest ready’ was an understatement as around the room were blue marker pen crosses where clearly snagging jobs needed to be finished. We had paint all over the floor tiles, it was splattered up door frames just an utter mess. We had a loose piece of carpet as we exited our room as the metal strip that holds the carpet down hadn’t been put in place. You may ask why didn’t we ask to move!! Upon arrival there were so many issues with the wedding guests rooms, that we just thought ‘put up & shut up’ as it was all going very wrong we even had a member of family end up in hospital. So to sum it up, a 3* hotel with 4* potential as the food & some staff very nice but this hotel is a million miles away from 5*. Very disappointing

"Smelly bedroom!"

8.0

Lovely hotel, good location and hotel standard very good overall. Food is generally excellent and great staff. We stayed in an adults only area on the 3rd floor, unfortunately we were plagued by a horrible drain smell in our bedroom from the sink area. Despite three attempts the hotel were unable to get rid of the smell. I guess we could have changed rooms but others complained of similar issues. Check other reviews and you’ll see this isn’t a one off problem. Overall apart from that the hotel is generally very good.

"Great relaxing week at Olympic lagoon paphos."

10.0

Second visit to Olympic lagoon. Came back this year for our anniversary. We were kindly upgraded to a better room which was a lovely surprise. The hotel is amazing and cannot fault. The staff incredible. Standouts were the rock n diner with Mitko and colleagues, So friendly and very attentive. Also the bar downstairs where the waiter Ion paid great attention to us and again very friendly. A credit to the hotel. We have booked for a third year in succession as we are so impressed. I can highly recommend this hotel.

"1 Year Wedding Anniversary 💕"

10.0

We returned to this hotel for our 1 year wedding anniversary, we got married here last year. We were concerned regarding some of the reviews we were reading before our stay. Upon arrival we were greeting with a cold towel and nice drink and couldn’t believe how stunning the new layout of the reception looked. The hotel managed to give us our room from last year and WOW! The newly refurbished room was just gorgeous with new modern technology. Bottle of bubbly on arrival. As part of our anniversary package we have a breakfast in bed one morning and we were supposed to have a candlelit dinner however our 2 year old fell ill and couldn’t attended, when we went to explain this to customer relations they organised a bottle of wine and few beers complimentary to our room since we couldn’t leave for dinner, nice touch and rearranged our meal. Food was amazing, quality produce used, best buffet we have been too. Drinks were brilliant too. Allocated sun beds are definitely the best thing ever! Yes there is still work in progress at this hotel, nothing that would ruin your stay if you are looking for faults you will find them. Faults happen but these are quickly rectified. Staff are amazing shout out to Elena and Ion at the bar. Stella and the tattooed man at the pool bar, the happy man in the American dinner and Zineos. Everyone was great with our 2 year old too. We are hoping to return next year. See you all then 🩷

"Amazing wedding- unfinished and unstaffed hotel"

4.0

I had my wedding here only a matter of days ago. To start, there are some amazing qualities about this hotel. Firstly, the wedding team were utterly incredible — they made our day so special, and I’ll be forever grateful for everything they did. Secondly, the entertainment team clearly want to do a great job and work incredibly hard, but they seem to be constantly restricted and prevented from doing so. However, this hotel was sold to us as a children’s and family-friendly hotel. It absolutely is not. Children — and their parents — are made to feel unwelcome throughout the stay. In the dining room, families are only allowed to sit in a small sectioned-off area, which is always overcrowded, meaning we constantly had to wait for a table. Once seated, we rarely saw waiting staff. The children’s disco is held inside the nursery rather than in the main entertainment area. One evening, no staff turned up at all and nobody communicated this to parents, so the mums ended up providing the entertainment themselves. On another occasion, I was told I wasn’t allowed to stay and watch the disco and was expected to leave my two-year-old son alone with staff I didn’t know. The bins in the nursery were overflowing on the first night, and the exact same rubbish remained there the following evening. Several children in our party have nut allergies, yet nobody asked about allergies or appeared concerned within the area we are expected to leave small children. A few days ago there was no children’s entertainment whatsoever. Now there appears to be around 30 minutes of activity in the adults’ pool area, but nothing at the children’s pool and no music or atmosphere at all. I booked my son into the nursery one morning while I attended a massage appointment. Unsurprisingly, no nursery staff turned up, and I was then informed the nursery service would not be running for the remainder of our stay. Yet another advertised children’s service simply unavailable. The hotel rooms are shocking. I have around 50 guests here, and most have had to change rooms due to issues. One room in particular repeatedly had sewage backing up into the bath. The outdoor area is lovely, Stella behind the outdoor bar was fantastic, as was the waiter we hired for the wedding and the lady in the café. Aside from those individuals, many staff members came across as abrupt, irritated, and uninterested. I have complained numerous times about the room conditions, including leaking ceilings, exposed wires, and the complete lack of proper entertainment and facilities for the hundreds of children staying here. Each time, I have simply been fobbed off. To me, this hotel should be a five-star resort and it absolutely has the potential to be again. But right now, it feels unsafe, unsuitable for families, and in desperate need of serious refocus and management attention.
