Holiday Inn Express Edmonton Downtown by IHG

Best hotel ever. Balcony has a full view of downtown. Only small disappointment is the bed size but thats the room we chose. Definitely a must stay!!!

Breakfast had everything we needed and wasn't too busy which was nice. The room was fine for a family of four and the beds were very comfortable. The car park had electrical points to plug our car in as it was well below freezing.

The area wasn't quite what we expected.

The location of the property was great. Being attached to the Red Arrow station is very convenient. The staff were very friendly.

I arrived to the property at noon and discovered that the property charges a $50 early check-in fee.(before 3:00pm). This amount is equal to a third of the cost of the room. This charge is ridiculous as it appeared that my room was ready and there is no inconvenience for the hotel. This charge just felt like another way for the hotel to make money.

Rooms were on different floors even though we requested at booking to be near each other for safety reasons with our children. No attempt but be hotel to offer a change of rooms to rectify that. Noticed after we checked out and left we were charged for Parking by the hotel even though we paid at the machine in the parking lot, and the hotel Parking charge was $5 more than what we paid at the machine. Rooms were horribly outdated and run down compared to online booking photos. Fans In bathroom for showering did not work. Tubs were dirty and the sheets on the pull out couch were dirty.

Staff was friendly, and the location was great for going to hospital. Room was fairly spacious.

Hot tub was very very cold. Room Door didn't shut properly. The toilet overflowed from the top of the toilet however they did fix it. They left all the dirty towels that were used to clean it up on the floor. They did not offer to remove them.
