Lanier Islands Legacy Lodge

We had such an AMAZING experience staying here during a hectic wedding weekend! We ended up booking a room here SUPER last minute and were pleasantly surprised by the great deal we got. The front desk staff truly went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us (shoutout to Meghan and Rachael!). They let us store our luggage before check-in at no extra charge (which really helped with our packed schedule). We also got a courtesy late check-out! Communication was also extremely easy through text. Everything was so convenient and stress-free. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, but the staff is who truly makes this place special. We were so well taken care of the whole weekend. Will definitely stay again - highly recommend!

Had dinner at Legacy Had to fish and chips. Food was fine, drinks were fine, but 70 dollars for Fish and chips and three drinks. I won’t be back.

Lanier Island Resort was a treasure for my Thanksgiving family gathering. It was 30 minutes north of Duluth, where we originally wanted to stay, but it was worth it to enjoy the nice nature, the lakeside trail, and Magical Nights of Lights around the island. There was a place for snow tubing and ice skating on the island. The resort was a perfect gateway for a holiday, and their Christmas decorations in the lobby and around the resort & island were unforgettable. We stayed in a villa suite for the gathering, and it was cozy with a fireplace. The staff were fantastic at helping our Thanksgiving family gathering go better, and I felt so welcome and cared for. Especially, Denise and Keria were excellent at making our family gathering more meaningful and keeping our stay happy. If I revisit this area, I will definitely stay here again.

The lodge is in a beautiful location, with amazing views and trails to go around. The facilities are good and their beer restaurant is well served and has good food. The breakfast is also quite good. As for the staff, there are very nice people but the people at the reception have very little proactivity to serve the customers. They are pleasant but seem incompetent. To give a couple of examples, there are events (for example a concert at the Game Changer) and when you ask for it they do not know about it. Also I ordered something in Amazon that arrived at the reception. They do not seem to communicate among them so it took a long time (at least 1 hour) to finally locate the packet. I was there for business reasons and needed an adaptor, they did not have any. And then something happened to me that made me feel unrespected and badly treated. I woke up early on Sunday morning to attend the complimentary yoga class at 9. At 9.10 as nobody was coming to the room I went up to the reception and there they told me the instructor had not arrived yet and that I had to wait at the lobby. At 9.20 I was still waiting. I had a meeting at 10.30 so I started getting unrestful and got up to talk to the people at the reception again and tell them I was still waiting. They said they did not know anything and I had to pressure them to call someone or ask the manager if the instructor was coming. Finally, one of the girls went into the office but it took her another 10 minutes before she went out to tell me with no apologies or anything that the instructor was not coming!!!!.... I was shocked of the lack of consideration of my time. I think the staff has definitely a big room for improvement in terms of customer service.

Great scenery around property. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, vey spacious and great views.

Outstanding service, beautiful views, welcoming vibe - my Mom and I were blown away by this resort from the moment we arrived! I've lived in Atlanta for 30 years and somehow overlooked this fantastic gem so close to home. I wanted a quick getaway with my 93-year-old Mom, and Lanier Islands Lodge more than fit the bill. Shout out to Eric at the valet stand, John and Christian at Sidney's, and Trey and his team at LandShark. Everyone went above and beyond in helping us feel at home. Highly recommended!

Be sure to call the resort before booking to get all the extra $$ due that arent listed here & some features like the BEACH water accessibility- It was off limits.. smh. We payed almost an addit'l big $$ 4 parking. (WHY???) After an issue. We ended staying in one of the lake houses. (Thanks to the Manger- Shes a sweetheart) But after reviewing another I realized we were in an older model. Really plain. Black and grey.. no pics on the walls. The feeling wasnt welcoming at all.. BUT The bed was comfortable tho. Most staff was great.. However there were 3 instances where we experienced off-track-racism/ sexism...1. Upon checking in.. the 1st lady was unnecessarily rude. 2. At the poolside bar, with the male bar tender avoided me at every turn and tended to the Caucasian or other race folk. I sat and called out to him numerous times for like 20 mins.. He would even come near me and would still act like i didnt exist. I had to go get my husband. And ONLY THEN. Once my husband spoke, did he pay attention & take my order. I felt degraded. Didnt know whether it was a female thing or a racist thing i had just went thru. Also we were told that breakfast ends at 12 by front desk..It actually ends at 11 on wknddays 10:30 on wkdays. The guy greated us with a rejection warning but was so welcoming to a Caucasian guy that arrived 20 mins after it was to be over with. Smh. Oh yeah. Bring your insect spray. There are huge spiders everywhere. Even with all that. We still relaxed tho. So ok.
