Hampton Inn East Peoria

If I hadn't arrived late in the day and been so tired, I would have complained, checked out, and gone elsewhere. What this hotel can do to be better: The facility smells like a hotel that used to allow smoking and never remodeled -or- so many people come back from the nearby casino stinking like smoke and the scent permeates the building. The bed in the room in which I stayed was hard as a rock and made unnerving popping sounds when I'd move around on it. Sheets and blankets were not soft and pillows deflated quickly. The wi-fi is bad, even for a Hampton, and I couldn't do any meaningful work because I could just barely get a single file uploaded before the slow wi-fi would kick me off. What this hotel can't change but you, the traveler, should know: The road into the hotel is long and winds out of the way by the casino. This makes it annoying to come and go. The hotel also has a lot of trash and brush around/behind it, which is probably not their fault. The lobby and breakfast area are small. there's water damage and peeling wallpaper *everywhere* Essentially, this hotel is an overflow for the casino hotel and there's no other reason to ever consider it. The only reason I selected it was due to its proximity to where I was going to be and I realize now that driving an extra few miles to a decent hotel would have made a major difference for my time in the city.

The hotel needs some updating in their rooms. Breakfast and price were good.

The hotel rooms were beautiful. Beds were springy and not super comfortable. The pool had clumps of hair and bugs everywhere. Breakfast was the best part of the stay. Great food.

I needed a later check out and they were happy to help! Good breakfast!

22 minutes from our daughter

Not the worst hotel I’ve ever been in, but certainly not one I will ever stay in again. It is filthy. The room had clean sheets, but it was apparent by the half sucked on cough drop behind the mattress and the layers of dust, no one cleans thoroughly. The pool had debris and hair floating each of three times I saw a for exercise. The floors were dirty and entrances to the elevators and building were never clean. Also various degrees of disrepair. Cracked tiles, marred walls and showers with stains, threshold to entrance was missing screws and posed a trip hazard. Some staff just appeared to not really care or present themselves in a professional manner. One positive was perfectly soft water. That’s it.

Needed paint, had bugs, mildew, big rips in the carpet

Everything was fine, except for the fact the the people in the room next to me had a dog that kept on barking the entire time I was there!
