Hampton Inn East Peoria

Had two rooms that were supposed to be the same. One had a refrigerator and the other one didn’t. Both rooms were dirty and one room had thermostat didn’t work which made the room too hot. The staff wasn’t any help.

The room was dirty. Used towels in bathroom and bug crawling on bed. Front desk sent someone up who removed used towel and cloth and looked at sheet on one bed for more bugs. That was it. I won’t stay here again and my money should be refunded.

Breakfast was very good.

Front desk girl at 1445 on 5/17 was rude. She wouldn't let me tell her the emails I received then yelled at me twice saying I needed to quit interrupting and I didn't want to hear her explanation. I walked out on her. When I returned to check in much later, was not told about $100 fee, not given breakfast hours or how you get on internet. Didn't realize hotel allowed pet. I don't choose pet friendly hotels. Availability on this weekend was slim. Toilet didnt flush properly; ice machine didnt work. No refrigerator? NEVER been in a hotel that doesn't provide one.

The hotel was pleasant, but not exceptional. The bathroom was small, with limited place to toiletries -- we had to remove the towels from the rack to use for storing some of our essentials. The black-out shade was excellent!

I have heard that a new Hampton Inn is currently under construction - and if so, most of these comments may be null and void at that point. The location is quite convenient and they had a meeting room that was solid for a 10-12 person session. Beyond that - the place needs an upgrade. Showers were quite small for larger people, lobby and common spaces were old and tired, and the standard Hampton Inn breakfast badly needs an upgrade - we can only eat those “omelettes”, sausage patties, and watery oatmeal for so many years. Overall - it was fine, but hopefully the rumors of a new HI being under construction and replacing this building are true.
