Hotel Victoria

Friendly staff, great location, clean rooms

The Victoria Hotel is a character hotel which offers comfortable, well - appointed rooms. The service is very good and the staff very friendly and amenable. However, be aware that a hotel called the Victoria House Hotel is listed in various booking sites; this hotel does not exist and is in fact the Victoria Hotel. I have paid money for a room at the V H H, but on arrival at the Victoria Hotel they have no record of this booking. The staff at the V H have advised me that this has happened before. I have escalated this matter and complained to the travel platform involved. My bank has been asked to investigate this transaction.

Staff were really nice. Truly excellent. The location was good and my room was simply but pleasant.

My AC unit was really loud.

The best diamonds of this hotel are definitely the reception girls, especially the team working on the 25th of May. They were incredibly kind, professional, and helpful. They even helped look after my teen while we went to check out the Hockey Hall of Fame, which we truly appreciated. Great location, the room itself was very good — clean, comfortable, and with great beds, good toiletries. Breakfast was really amazing

Since I pay strong attention to details, I would mention just one small thing: the big green curtains and the way they were attached did not give the best first impression aesthetically. But apart from that, everything else was perfectly fine, and we had a pleasant stay overall.

The optional breakfast was very expensive, so we went out for breakfast. The Brookfield court was excellent for choice and price. The staff tried to fix the TV, and ended up changing our rooms.

Views were of a brick wall. Expensive in house food.

The room was smelling bad, shower water flow was very weak, toilet paper hanger wasn't properly fixed. I can say the entire room shouldn't be classified as a 3 stars room. Table was very bad, the room main ligh and side light units were extremely loose and even dangerous. I think Victoria hotel didn't witness any maintenance since so many years. Hotel overall ventilation is very poor. Smell is very bad everywhere. Staff wasn't cooperative at all, I asked for room change or to adjust things but Mr. Dinesh who was at the front desk didn't help at all. Overall opinion: Victoria is an excellent choice for location but a catastrophical choice for anything else. Briefly: I did a big mistake in booking at Victoria hotel, downtown of Toronto.
