Delta Hotels by Marriott Birmingham

Now under the Delta hotel name we have noticed the standard of mattress has really dropped from a topped pocket sprung mattress to coil no topper. Uncomfortable.

The room had a horrible hospital smell. Even our clothes smelled of chemicals. My sister brought it up with reception and they said they all smell like that on that corridor. As they were already aware of the problem they gave her another room on the floor above. I telephoned the hotel the following day to say I was concerned that it could be a leak from the air conditioning. She said she would transfer me to the duty manager but I just went through to voicemail on a mobile . I left a message explaining that the smell could be either a bacteria or leak, both of which are a health and safety issue. I never heard back so we emailed them and had a very dismissive email back. We had no apology and they really seem to have no regard for our concerns or comfort.

Do not visit if you value your health!

The hotel itself is lovely but the room really let us down due to the mould issue! This was absolutely vile and caused us to be ill. Have complained and received no response.
