Very pleasant experience each time I’ve been there. Rooms are clean and welcoming. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Tired rooms, front desk and lounge staff seemed annoyed at check-in and reception hour. Underwhelming stay lacking central coast charm. Better options along Moonstone Beach.

We felt completely misled by this hotel. The online photos show a beautiful, updated property, but what we actually experienced was a blatant bait-and-switch. This was a long-awaited milestone trip to celebrate both a birthday and an anniversary, which makes the experience highly, highly disappointing.Our frustration began right at check-in. Despite the 3:00 PM check-in time being clearly posted, the front desk casually told us our room wasn't ready. I waited in the lobby to watch a handful of other people get checked in ahead of us while we waited. Not a huge deal but staff was highly apathetic. When she finally gave us our keys, we discovered the room was a non-private suite (we had booked a deluxe king tub cottage style suite) that completely lacked the privacy we paid for. When we went back and brought up the incorrect room type, the two staff members didn't apologize and seemed annoyed, but apathetically moved us to a different room and noted it would be located right next to an active daytime construction site, leaving us to deal with noise during the day. The new room was severely outdated, neglected, and in need of a refresh. We arrived to a broken decorative fence, plastic hangers, plastic bottle caps, and cobwebs to welcome us, trash in the wastebasket, and even found medication on the floor. The inside had extremely worn furniture, stained carpet, a yellowed shower and a chipped toilet seat I had to do a double take each time I used as it looked dirty. Since returning home, I have replied to two separate post-trip review surveys sent by the hotel detailing these issues, and absolutely nobody has reached out to acknowledge us. It is incredibly disheartening to pay for a special celebration, only to be ignored in the lobby, handed a neglected room, and treated with complete apathy both during and after our stay. Regret not taking photos of issues (to salvage the trip), but did attach the few I took. While I’m sure they do have a few rooms that match the photos, this was a Classic bait and switch at Cambria pines lodge.

Stunning location, gorgeous landscaping and gardens. We enjoyed live music and danced a bit. What a hoot! Wonderful operation and customer service!

I stayed here. Since we always travel with children—there are five of us—when I was searching online, I liked that the photos showed options featuring two queen beds and a sofa bed. And indeed, they do provide two queen beds; however, they never tell you that one of the beds is mounted on the wall and that you have to call the front desk to have them raise or lower it. When the bed is lowered, there is absolutely no room left to walk around. This is a very poor setup for families traveling together. The cleanliness was terrible; when the bed was lowered, it was completely covered in dust and had sharp edges that posed a serious safety hazard for children. There are no exhaust fans in the bathrooms, so you have to put up with everyone's odors inside the room. Furthermore, there is no privacy whatsoever, as your neighbors are right next to you on the balcony. Inside the room, it feels as though you are walking on air over wooden planks, because the entire room shakes whenever someone walks quickly. It was a horrible experience; I did not like it at all, and I felt it was far too expensive for what they offer. In my personal ranking of bad hotels, this one occupies one of the top spots.

Cambria Pines Lodge is our go to when staying on the Central Coast. They offer a variety of rooms, the rooms and grounds are always clean and it is quiet and peaceful. Their restaurant is great and you can always use the path into town for other dining options. We look forward to returning!

Absolutely loved our stay at Cambria Pines! We arrived very late on our first night of check in and the front desk associate was very pleasant and kind we immediately felt welcomed. Check in process went quick and smoothly We initially booked a standard 2 queen room and would say that it could use some updates . We had a couple mishaps with the room but was able to put that quickly behind us as the hotel accommodated us for the remainder of our stay with no hesitation. They moved us to junior suite the next morning and we were absolutely thrilled with this room. Beautiful view, beds were crisp and clean and the upgrades in this room vs. standard would be well worth the extra cost for those wondering what type of room they should book. We were also given breakfast free for the 2nd day of our stay & granted a late checkout at no cost. Communication was smooth and immediate with front desk via text and I guarantee you we will we return and recommend Cambria Pines to family and friends. Pool and jacuzzi were great love the privacy with the hedges. All around a wonderful property and my family and I look forward to returning. We booked our stay for a travel baseball tournament for our son which can be very hectic at times but our experience with Cambria pines made it feel like a vacation.
