Cambria Pines Lodge

The room we stayed in (room 417) had white patches on the walls where the paint had peeled off, holes in the walls where something may have been hanging, a bent lamp shade, the floorboards were beat up and missing paint, the sink faucet had green mold, the bathroom walls and floor had stain marks and the bed was uncomfortable.

Wonderful lodge in the beautiful town of cambria. We overnighted here after travelling down Hwy 1 and it was clean, comfortable, and breakfast was top notch! The gardens and grounds are beautiful and impeccably maintained. We were only here for a night but would have been happy to stay for a few more !

The room was lovely, quite large, and very comfortable. This was a last minute getaway 30 miles from my home with my dog. Everyone was super kind and accommodating. I had no idea about Cambria Pines Lodge and I was shocked when I started my drive to my room. The gardens were beautiful and everything serene. I didn’t participate in the activities because I had my little dog but we went on many adventures within the lodge grounds and Cambria. This is just what I needed for my little staycation. Thank you Cambria Pines Lodge for a wonderful stay and I will certainly be visiting again in addition to recommending to family and friends.

Overall resort was beautiful. Loved that the buildings were broken into 4-unit lodges. Also loved the main lodge. It was great that it was located a short drive (or even a walk) from the east downtown area of Cambria. Wild dear were seen around our building several times. So great to see the wildlife.

Noise was an issue as the unit above had kids who ran back and forth a lot in the mornings and evenings. Hard to get to sleep at night and they woke us up early in the mornings. One other issue was that the unit had very limited dishes or utensils. So when we brought meals back to the unit, we had to “makeshift” how to serve, and get paper plates and utensils from the main lodge. Would have been nice if they anticipated that guests would need these things.

I had mixed feelings about my stay at Cambria Pines Lodge. The grounds are beautiful, the room was comfortable, and the property has a peaceful atmosphere. Once I was settled, I enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately, check-in was frustrating. Due to an issue accessing my room, I spent approximately 90 minutes making multiple trips to and from the front desk before I could finally get settled. This significantly impacted the start of my visit. The complimentary breakfast was also disappointing. The eggs were dry and appeared pre-prepared, the pastries tasted mass-produced, the orange juice lacked flavor, and the coffee was weak and watery. Even the oatmeal seemed watered down. Overall, the food quality fell below expectations for a property in this price range. When I later requested a late checkout, I was initially told there would be an additional charge. I had to point out that I had already lost much of my first afternoon due to the check-in issues before the fee was waived and a one-hour late checkout was granted. Most disappointing, however, was the lack of communication. I provided feedback about my experience twice—once during my stay and again after checkout—and received no acknowledgment or response. What makes this particularly surprising is that I had recently stayed at J Patrick Inn, Cambria Pines Lodge’s sister property, and that experience was excellent. Check-in was smooth, communication was prompt, and the overall level of service was noticeably better. Cambria Pines Lodge has many positive qualities, but the check-in difficulties, disappointing breakfast, and lack of response to guest feedback make me hesitant to return or recommend the property.
