AZZ Mérida Medea Hotel

The pool area and the poolside terrace bar were the highlights of our stay. The reception staff and the young man working on the terrace were also excellent. They were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our visit.

The bathroom had a serious drainage issue. Water would not drain properly and overflowed, creating a huge puddle outside the shower area. We had to shower in short intervals to avoid flooding the entire room. In addition, the bathroom only provided shower gel. There was a sign stating that guests should contact reception if they needed anything else, but basic amenities should be readily available in the bathroom without having to request them. Another issue was the housekeeping staff. They should be aware that they work in a hotel where guests are trying to rest. At around 9:00 a.m., they were talking very loudly in the corridors. We had a long journey and this hotel was supposed to be our rest stop, but we were unable to get the sleep we had planned because the noise woke us up. Overall, the hotel should pay more attention to the details expected from a four-star property, but unfortunately it does not meet that standard. Finally, although the terrace was a good size, there was not a single chair available to sit on, which made the space much less useful and enjoyable.

We use to love staying here. It has deteriorated a lot. We won’t stay again
