Ramilton Old Town Hostel

Only the location

It was very uncomfortable staying I would not recommend it for any international or locals to stay. My food was stolen on 3 occasions and my medicine one ladies phone was stolen. They have the people that are released from prison living there. At many occasions the guy was running around with. a knife wanting to kill people. The cockroaches were walking around in the kitchen. The maintenance of the stove was broken. Also the medical box was empty which should be refilled at all times by law. Very poor management running the place. I would not recommend this place at all. I don't know why booking.com is advertising it on their platform at all. Most of the beds were broken.

The host gave me my own dorm because of the types of people there. Location is in a nice area of old town.

I booked this property based on the photos. It looked the most modern, bright and clean. When I arrived the staff member gave me my own room in a dorm of four and advised me not to speak to the long-term stayers. There was a man hovering outside my room for parts of the nights which made me nervous to use the toilet. It seemed there were no fellow travellers and that this particular hostel was used for other reasons. There were unappealing signs on the toilet stalls saying do not put used condom wrappers down the shitter. it is for pissing and shitting only. It was not advertised the room has no window, or at least a window that is open. It is in the basement. No natural light is let in. Looks nothing like the photos. A funny smell lingers. I did not look at the kitchen or living space. It is not on the main page that bed linin is an additional price. This should be made clearer.

Location is absolutely perfect. Very nice and gentle staff (the man who was walking around was very kind to us) The boy bathroom is really good and the bed are ok!
