Location wasnt great but not bad either.

The stay the cottage essentially ruined the last days of my vacation. When we decided to extend our vacation in the area for a couple more days, we chose to stay Eagle Cottages since there was no availability in the condo we were staying in. Upon checking in (the cardinal) my daughter found a dead cockroach underneath one of the beds. Despite this, I decided to continue with our stay, so I removed the bug and flushed it down the toilet. Later in the evening, I went in one of the bathrooms and pulled back the shower curtain and to my shock was the largest cockroach I had ever seen crawling up the shower wall. Knowing how terrified my wife is of these bugs I was reluctant to tell her but when she heard my reaction to what I saw, I had no choice. Furthermore, my wife has asthma, and these cockroaches can serve as a trigger for an asthma attack. This all being said, my wife and daughters were now terrified to stay any longer, so we all slept uncomfortably in the living room on the small chairs and couch until we could check out a day early the next morning. Seeing the roach in the cottage also drew my attention to the numerous other issues like gaps between the floors and base boards, a big hole in the floor at the bathroom threshold where the roach was seen, a large gap the bottom of the front door, a dirty air condition vent and spider webs on the dining room chandelier to name just a few things. In the morning, I went to the rental office to inform of our early departure and to seek a refund for the day I wasn’t staying. I was told that the palmetto bugs are part of the environment and there is nothing they can do about them and a refund would not be given. ( Might I add, these bugs are American Cockroaches. Palmetto bugs seem to be a name that people use to make them seem less disgusting). I asked to speak to a manager at which point I was denied and told both managers were on personal leave and the attendant didn’t want to call them. When I returned the key before

Really spacious, clean, had the basics for us for when we arrived. The beds were incredibly comfortable and it was decorated to a high standard. Even the washer and dryer downstairs were huge so we got all our holiday washing done in one load! We loved everything about the property!
