Eagle Cottages & The Cabins at Gulf State Park

Amazing location! So close to the beach and restaurants, yet the grounds were so serene that it felt miles away from city life! Would definitely stay here again.

Had a amazing time! Everyone was so nice. The lakeside cabin was cozy for the price. Enjoyed biking around the park and nature.

Furniture very uncomfortable. Listed as a queen and full. Both beds were full by beds. Cabin is only cleaned before you arrive. And if you want more towels, you either have to do laundry or make sure you bring them with you. Door code didn't work. We called and nothing was done to rectify this.

The cabin was great. My whole family really enjoyed it! The park is full of so many great trails.

Very nice place to stay. Quiet & a beautiful sunrise over the lake. Some really good rest and killer seafood. Pbly try out a cottage next time. The nature is outstanding here. Spotted an eagle our 1st day.

Paid for the cabin through the Vrbo app and was hit with a cleaning fee upon arrival that cost more than the nightly rate! No where did it state that there would be an extra fee. I would have NEVER booked the night if I knew it would have costed that much. Very disappointed!

Upon checking in I quickly realized the cabin I had been placed in, cabin 19, was not listed anywhere in the pictures given to review the property. They apparently renovated one of the lake side cabins and that’s the only images they provided because the cabin my family was put in was very disappointing. The first thing I noticed upon arriving at the cabin was it was no where near the lake as advertised it was a good 5-10 min drive from where the cabin is located to the lake. I’m not sure what the $200 cleaning fee renters have to pay is supposed to go towards but the cabin was filthy when we checked in. There were dust bunnies under everything and all a layer of dust on top of every surface and besides the cleanliness the cabin is actually leaning. When I was washing dishes after we finished dinner on our first night there I noticed the water was running at a diagonal across the sink, and speaking of water don’t plan on a long shower because you only get about 5 min of hot water, we had to heat water on the stove in order to bath my little boy, oh yea there is no bathtub which we were not told so we had to bathe my son in the kitchen sink. This place is in need of some serious maintenance. The screen porch has holes all in the screens and doesn’t keep the insects out at all but the thing I found the most disturbing was the fact there is a hot electrical wire sticking out of the fireplace for some reason. My wife and I were highly disappointed and will not be returning.
