Citybreak-apartments Sao Bento

We really loved our 3 day stay in this property. It was quite large, well equipped, centrally located, reasonably quiet during the night, had very very hot water, check in and check out very good and staff were responsive. Was one of our favourite places we have stayed in Portugal.

There were a few things that could’ve been better such as matching wine glasses, water/beer glasses and a fry pan but when I alerted the staff they sorted out the problem promptly by getting new items. The batteries in the TV remote were corroded and hence remote didn’t work and also the TV. The toilet seat was also loose. Having said all of that these things didn’t ruin our stay and the staff were responsive when I asked for some of them to be fixed, I was happy for them to fix some other things after we left, it’s just a maintenance thing where the management team need to have better processes in place to identify deficiencies rather than wait for customer feedback before they fix them.

Had plenty of space. The bed was comfortable, and the location worked well. We were able to access earlier than the original check-i.

The apartment had a spider web in the corner of the living room, the night stands in the bedroom qere dusty, and their were a few small dead insects in the living by the windows.

It’s very bright and airy, lots of natural light and plenty of space. The windows are huge and can be fully opened, and the wooden floors are very cool. The location is amazing, you are right in the centre and everything is so close by. It’s also very peaceful and quiet and feels like an escape from the chaos of the city.

The shower could do with updating.

Bed very uncomfortable. We were a couple and there was twin beds in the room. No tea towels supplied. 4 flights of stairs with suitcases was a bit much. Water drainage issue in shower and leaking pipe under bathroom sink.

The shower requires upgrading. Water slow to clear. Difficult to adjust the temperature. Cutlery in the kitchen- lacking sharp knives and spoons. Balcony requires cleaning Front door lock was at times difficult to lock/unlock

The location of the flat is excellent - easy distance to walk to most of the city's attractions. If you need supermarkets,.there's a Pingo Doce and a Continente a short walk away. Plenty of good cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. We particularly liked a cafe at the top of the hill (Esquires?)lovely sandwiches, coffee etc. The flat is spacious and comfortable with good facilities (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, hob & oven) and a very comfortable bed.

There was a problem with the bathroom extractor fan when we first arrived (it was making an awful noise) but we rang the apartment management team and they sorted it out for us promptly which we really appreciated. No other problems at all.
