Rivers Edge Resort

The cabin was quaint but well worn and due for a refresh Overall if was fine

Front desk girl was extremely rude.

My cottage was very clean and comfortable. Rivers edge is in a very good location in town walkable to stores or easy to drive two different things in the community. I also felt safe there I would go back there again

This is more of a cottage residence with charming cottages not much here in Fairbanks just a hub for flying out or renting car to explore other parts of Alaska

Our stay was part of the "Just the Basics" package arranged by the Alaska Railway, and it exceeded our expectations. Nowadays, "resort" doesn't mean a place with recreational amenities, so we weren't surprised not to find any. However, our little studio cabin was clean and comfortable, the staff members were pleasant and helpful, and the free shuttle to the University of Alaska Museum of the North, as well as from the train depot and to the airport, was a definite plus. We only stayed two nights, but had we stayed longer and needed to shop for food, the hotel shuttle would also have taken us to the Fred Meyer supermarket nearby.

It's a nice place but if you want breakfast, it costs $21.95 per person and it was about equal to what we usually get for free at other hotels.

The property was adorable! The cottages were clean and quaint. All the extra necessities were available in the room - microwave, fridge, coffee maker. We enjoyed walking along the path by the river. The pathways lined by hedges reminded me of Alice in Wonderland. The cottages each had their own beautiful hanging baskets as well as the main lodge. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was amazing and so delicious! We will definitely return again.

Positives: Clean, nice location on river. No charge for showers. Negatives: Crazy policy of not providing access to showers and bathrooms if you arrive after office hours with no reservations. Blaring christian radio 24/7 in office/bathroom/laundry area. Please either play something that is not offensive to some or nothing at all.

The cabins were unique instead of a standard hotel. I called for a shuttle from the airport, and I waited for 30 min. (location is 15 min away) I called again and got front desk voicemail. Left VM. Called again 20 min later and asked if the shuttle was on their way. (By this time it was a 50 minute wait. I could have walked there by then.) They apologized and said to take a taxi and they would pay the taxi upon arrival. They did. Gave me a coupon for a complimentary breakfast.
