Rivers Edge Resort

Rooms were little chalets which was lovely. Ours had fridge, microwave, tv, internet, full en suite bathroom, curtains kept out the light effectively an in room coffee maker. There was no safe or daily room service. The staff were very friendly and eager to help A shuttle service took us to our tours and to and from the train station. There were lots of amenities within a short drive. We had a great stay

We were able to check-in a bit early which was very convenient. Our bush plane flight came in at noon from Eagle and our flight to Seattle did not leave until 12:15am so we needed a room for just a few hours to shower and repack.

Just a delightful experience

Cozy cottage setting, but needed total black out curtains for the windows. No late dining offered for late arrivals, and the limited breakfast buffet was $21 pp

A check-in staff member was wearing a mask. I am older and have difficulty hearing. When I asked her to repeat things I couldn’t hear to understand, she became irritated, rude, and sarcastic. Interact with the same person in the morning, and their behavior continues.

This hotel/resort was booked for us by Alaska Railroad as part of their Alaska by Daylight tour package. The resort is situated on the water, with a nice restaurant (overlooking the water) and a café adjacent to the lobby, used for breakfast. The rooms are actually several dozen cottages sprinkled throughout the property- a very nice change from the usual single building ‘hotel’. We ate dinner in the hotel’s restaurant, “Chena River Restaurant”. The food and service were both excellent! Nicolay was an extremely good, knowledgeable and friendly server. He took great care to address my wife’s food allergies. Thank you! They have a shuttle service for the airport and various excursions. They will also take you by the local Fred Meyers for last minute food items if you wish. Lucas was a very friendly driver- took us wherever we wanted to go and picked us up when we were ready to get back to the resort. Sally was very helpful with our airport pick-up. Unfortunately, she wasn’t so friendly after our Riverboat tour on the Chena River. Overall, we do recommend visiting the River’s Edge Resort for a unique experience.
