Rivers Edge Resort

Loved the fact that there was a van at our disposal to take us to and from where we wanted to go. Great time . Lovely trip!! The grounds were lovely!

Only stayed one night prior to our cruise/tour began the following day. We arrived around midnight to check in. The desk gal didn’t think we could carry our luggage upstairs so she switched our room ? We were in a cottage now- it was difficult to find it in the dark but we finally did. We were supposed to have a king size bed but got 2 doubles. The bed was comfortable but the room needs updating. The breakfast seemed overpriced. Overall it was OK.

Great stay. Very secluded and had all the amenities I needed.

Unique area but very limited area to walk around private building are a plus

Such friendly people. So helpful. Howard was wonderful and friendly. Suggested great ideas. Quaint and quiet place. Would come again. They shuttled us to excursions and the museum of the north. Shuttled back to the hotel. Grill restaurant on site. Good service and delicious food.

Very nice surroundings

Our stay started out bad. We were told to look for a shuttle when we got off the train and call if one was not there. Since it was not there, we called the hotel and was told the driver had fallen asleep but was on his way and should be there in five minutes. After 20 minutes we called again. We were then told that he was already there and left. He was not driving the River's Edge van because it was broken down and instead was driving a van from the Bridgewater. Not knowing this, we did not look for him so he left. At this point there were 8 people waiting for that shuttle. We were told he would be returning in 20 minutes. So, 40 minutes after our arrival and with the train station pretty much closed up, we all waited. He finally arrived with a very weak apology. Everyone was upset as it was after 9:00 PM and we were tired and ready to get to the hotel. It was a quiet ride. Once at the hotel, we were quicky checked it, but not a word was mentioned about the shuttle - not even a "sorry about that." We could not believe it when we opened the door to our "cottage." It was small, worn, and musty. It smelled like it had not been used for some time. When we turned the air conditioner on, it also smelled musty. The pedestal table was wobbly and useless. We barely had room for our luggage. The door had streaks of rusty water where it had obviously leaked. The shower had mold or mildew above it. The beds were somewhat comfy. Since we were not in our room much, we just put up with it. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was just okay. I am sure there are better places in Fairbanks to stay. Our travel agent booked this for us, but we will be sure to relay the condition we found it.

I appreciate the river surrounding very much. Very clean room and very courteous staff, including the food service staff.

Cabins were cute and private. Girl at night was a little short. The guy was cool.

Staff was excellent. We had some transportation issues and they happily worked will us to resolve the issue. Property is on the older side but the individual cabins were good.
