Penhelig Arms

Played golf locally and needed somewhere to spend the night, this place was ideal. 5 mins from the golf course in the centre of Aberdovey with nice views across the estuary. Breakfast selection was excellent. Bar meal in the evening was also very nice with a good offer on. Excellent value for money.

Plumbing is slightly temperamental so the shower did range between warm and very hot but was still manageable (there is a sign in the bathroom that says this). Room was very warm at night with no air con and locks on windows only open so far so didn’t allow much air through. Place could do with a lick of paint and a tidy up in a few places.

The price for breakfast advertised online and the price on the menu were ok but the prices stated on the menu at the table were 20 percent higher!!

The rooms in the house behind are wonderful and have their own parking. The view across the estuary is special. The location and town are great with very good eating places.

The food was OK but not special. Same with the beer and bar.

The room was a really good size and view terrific. Staff friendly and helpful. We had family join us for breakfast which they had no problem with.

Beds were a bit on the hard side.

Laundry would have been nice

The location and view plus the Sunday dinner was really good.
