Harpoon House

The location is in the center of Southampton. The bed was big.

Harpoon House does not divulge on Booking.com they have a "Night Club" on the premises on the weekends. It plays until 2AM on weekends. On Friday night about 3AM, all of the fire alarms went off. All guests went out onto the front lawn, but no management showed, only police and the fire department. About 1.5 hours later (4:30 AM) the fire dept. said it was an alarm system malfunction. There was no fire, we were allowed to return to our rooms, and were told the alarms might go off again. All alarms blared again close to 5 AM. There was no contact from management. I texted mgmt on Sat. AM to ensure that the problem had been resolved. If not, I would have moved. I finally tracked down the manager, Zach, about 3PM. on Sat. He told me that the alarms "should not go off again," which indicated that it was not a certainty. However, the night was quiet. For sacrificing a night's sleep, the least management could have done was offer free breakfast at their sister-owned B&B next door, or a voucher for lunch/dinner in their restaurant. Nothing was offered. Many of the towels and the bathmat were frayed and stringy. For the high price of the room, I expect high-quality linens and towels. There was no breakfast, even though Harpoon House described itself on Booking.com as a B&B "Harpoon House is a bed and breakfast surrounded by views of the garden..." My room, Ste 3 would not be appropriate for anyone who is tall or is balance-challenged. The floor has many short steps up and down which are a big trip hazard. The room has a very low ceiling. Harpoon House does not represent itself accurately on Booking.com

Very cute location- rooms are very spacious. We were able to walk into town. Would definitely stay again.

Great spot!

The location is great and the room is decent. However, during our stay the fire alarm went off at 3:45 AM and we sat outside for 45 mins. I called 911 to get the police and fire to arrive and then me and other guests worked with the Fire Department to identify the faulty circuit breaker and understand the repair. The management company or owner never showed up! To make it worse, the next morning the mgmt team said they heard something about a fire alarm and then handed me by $1200 bill for 2 nights. Worst service ever.

The location is great but the whole place needs a makeover. Super noisy. You can hear conversations in the next room

We had ants in our room. I had to wait an entire day to tell someone cuz there was no one to tell. They did take care of it though.

The room was large and comfortable. The location was perfect for what we had planned for this trip. Water and coffee were available in the room and restaurants were nearby for anything else.

There was no iron or ironing board.

Lovely renovation with everything new and fresh. Just a couple of things missing like a bedside clock and a hair dryer, but a quite good accommodation within easy walking distance of town.

Staying here is fine if you need just a place to sleep. No concierge and the hotel felt a bit run down as well as the property.

This was by far the best value for our stay of one night. It was comfortable and in a great location. If you are looking for value, this is the place!

Pop Up Rocco was excellent—bed was crisp & comfortable
