Days Inn by Wyndham Calgary South

I stayed in this hotel for four to five days. I had such a bad experience that when I was checking out, an elderly man spoke so rudely to me, saying, “We don’t keep your money.” I had just asked, “Please, can you check the credit card, which card it is?” And he just rudely told me, “Hand over the card, which is credit or debit.” Number two, the carpets there are so dirty; in fact, the floor is just full of dust. The room doesn’t have any microwave, and in this hotel, there is only one elevator, and that is also broken; it doesn’t work. Today, I had to carry all my luggage from upstairs by myself on the stairs. It took me three trips, and my back also hurt, but still, I carried all the heavy stuff up and down. My experience was very bad. I would recommend to you not to ever book this hotel.

El drenaje del lavamanos no funcionaba correctamente, cada vez que se usaba debíamos esperar a que bajara el agua. El shampoo era muy líquido que pareciera que le echaban agua para que rindiera más.

This place is a nightmare, and I would hesitate to recommend it to my worst enemy. We stayed on the 3rd floor and woke up with over 10 bedbug bites. Per person. The beds and rooms are filthy so although this was extremely disappointing, I can’t say it was shocking. The hotel has gone back and forth about whether they want to be held accountable or not. At first they responded to our complaints by apologizing, assuring us that there would be a third-party brought in to inspect for and exterminate the issue, and even offering a refund. When we informed them that this was not enough and that we also expected them to cover any costs associated with removing any bugs from our belongings and vehicle. Upon hearing this, the hotel immediately revoked their apology and refused to take accountability. The excuses from them have been endless but the point remains the same: We believe this hotel has bed bugs. This hotel wants YOU to pay to get bed bugs. If you stay at this hotel, you are guaranteed to bring home some bed bugs for your family and friends, and you’ll get some gnarly bites to show off as well. I can try to give them the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe there is a chance that they do not have bed bugs, but at the very least they have bugs that leave bites exactly like bed bug bites, so it is not looking good either way. Aside from the bed bugs, the bathrooms are dirty and full of black mold. The elevator has been out of order for months and months now, so you can look forward to hauling your luggage up many flights of stairs. Their parking lot is a logistical nightmare and they do not have enough spaces to accommodate all the rooms. All of the recent google reviews will tell you that it’s filthy, poorly managed, neglected in care, and that the staff are unhelpful when confronted with these problems. I’ve read that some people checked in and left after 15 minutes when they saw how disgusting the rooms were. I wish that we could go back in time and do the same. If everywhere else in Calgary has no vacancy and you have no choice but to stay here, save yourself time and a headache by thoroughly inspecting your beds for bugs, sheddings, and droppings.

Elevators from the parkade was malfunction.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. The breakfast is simple but delicious.

All the reviews about the elevator are negative, and yes, I agree with that. There are cups and coffee in the room, but no water (they don’t provide water!). Please don’t let your wonderful hotel lose its rating because of these silly issues.

Ausreichend für ein bis zwei Nächte. Sporadisches Frühstück, dennoch ausreichend. Das Zimmer war sauber.

Leider hatten wir nicht die beste Erfahrung mit den Damen an der Rezeption, welche sehr schnippisch geantwortet haben auf grundsätzliche Fragen. Die Klimaanlage im Zimmer steht direkt am Bett und konnte nicht schwächer eingeschaltet werden, weshalb diese Nachts ausbleiben musste. Die Fenster ließen sich alternativ leider nicht öffnen.
