The Pines Resort

Check-in process was fast, painless & friendly. Room was clean and nothing else was needed. We got the pet friendly cabin and the special doggie package made my skeptical doggie relax. Grounds were clean and plenty of employees around made safety concerns go away.

What a cool place to go to and visit. Coming here last summer it was my 1st time ever. The location was awesome its pretty much its own area kinda like its own little city. Once you drive into the main area you drive into what you can call a city center with shops, restaurants, and a grocery/general store. If you forgot something you can definitely buy it there but it might be a little more pricey say if you drive a little bit to Groveland and go to any store in the city. The atmosphere is cool, I was made aware of this place as one of my favorite all time movies The Great Outdoors was filmed there. The area and cabins are cool and it all surrounds Bass Lake. Our room was 2 story and had plenty of room for a family bigger than 4 as we were. Has everything you need inside from a stove, to refrigerator you get it all. Cleanliness was good really nothing bad to say. Only thing really is you can tell room has been put through the ringer as I am sure that with all the guests visiting every year probably all year round that a room can get runned down but overall clean and comfy. We also got to see a bear in the area so be aware of that it was pretty cool to see as i've never seen a bear live and close in person before unless at a zoo. The lake is big so depending where you stay there are plenty of options for you and your family. Would and will come back again with friends and or family.

I genuinely don’t know how our stay could have been any better. Coming midweek and offseason was ideal for us—from the quiet, to the reduced cost. Staff was phenomenal everywhere we turned—very helpful, and extremely thorough with their help. We barely scratched the surface of all the things to see and do — and the great spots to stop and do nothing!

Comfortable spacious and clean

Our stay was great from making reservations right up to the minute we were leaving the property on our last day. Every staff member we had the pleasure of interacting with were perfect examples of how customer service should be. One person in particular, Bryce, was the most helpful, courteous person we have ever encountered on any trip we've taken. His professionalism and knowledge of the property and surrounding area made interacting with him one of the highlights of our stay.

Perfect location on the lake, quiet and relaxing, the cabins were comfortable, clean, warm and had lots of space, we should have brought a blanket from home for the bed, the comforter was thin but the bed was comfortable. Great price for a winter time getaway. The service was good, staff was accommodating and friendly providing great service. The cabin was fully equipped with everything you would need from cooking, cleaning up to toiletries. They had a fire place but there was no firewood in the room, we didn't ask or look, so they may have it available over all our trip was GREAT!

Front desk was friendly and attentive. The pool area was a disaster though. There were used towels, flat inflatables, and dirty jeans left in the pool area. My wife and I had to walk up the hill to ask for pool towels. The front let us know that they would have the PA bring them out. The guy restocked the towels didnt ask if we needed any and left the mess in the pool area.. Not to mention, there was a manager that came down and did the same. That was the only downfall of the trip. During the winter time its nice and quiet. Also, the food at the market is beyond overpriced.

Family oriented resort. But, can accommodate all ages and sexes plus pet friendly. Very clean, well keep. Bed very comfortable. Feels like home. So relaxing. Cabin does not have rusty / dust smell. Electric stove, No sink disposal - wish there one. Water glass and coffee cup are very small. We have been coming here - summer n fall season. And keep coming back. Staff are very nice n accommodating. AC/ HEATER is very good as well. Tips: bring your extra pillows n blanket - if you want to use the attic area - good for teens to hang out. But you can request from the front desk. You can bring your airbed if you have bad back or for comfort while in the attic. Bring extra towels and trash bag but you can also request fr the front desk. Just hassel calling for basic household needs.
