St. Augustine Island Inn

Nice family run business. Room was clean and met expectations. Unfortunately, I could not stay the entire time due the family member I came to visit in St. Augustine became critically ill. I will rebook the next time I need to come to St. Augustine.

The gentleman was nice and tried to accommodate us. The location was not far from downtown so that was a plus.

The hallways smelled like smoke and sometime strong spices from someone cooking. The beds made a lot of noise when moving on them and the blankets/cover had old stains on them. The towels were also stained and were very old, so they were thin and not very white. Parking was a little tight for larger vehicles/SUV's

the location was clean and the staff was nice and listened to my questions, and delivered.

I am a retired Supervisor and my friend was aa NP, right under a Doctor. We are both professionals. We arrived early, found out you could not register 4PM. When we got there I asked the reception woman for a men’s room. She was dressed like a cleaning lady. She said she didn’t have any downstairs. Steve, the other guy showed me the bathroom which was locked. The bathroom door was stuck, he had trouble opening and closing the door. The woman was extremely rude talking how much we saved booking early. We went to the room and found the towels dirty and stained. It appears that the towels rough and maybe not washed properly. We tried calling to get clean towels and the phone didn’t work. Ever go to a classy hotel and see the management leaves the microwave and refrigerator unplug to save electricity knowing the room is booked? I went downstairs and they took offense to the dirty towels and phone OOS. Some excuse was given… When in the room, I told Steve I write for Trip Advisor and I would write an accurate review. He threatened us! Yes, I said he threatened to call the Police if we didn’t leave after paying for the room! He also added that he was not told that two (2) people were to be in the room and should have charged double! I can only guess that for each person you pay separately though you are all in one room. Imagine paying extra per child?! Steve offered to give us our money back which is not their Policy, but in this case we took the money from this filthy place and went down the street and found a lovely, warm, professional climate at Guy Harveys. What a beautiful place. Here we did not have to plug in the refrigerator or the micro wave. I would NEVER recommend this place due to the filth and straight up threats to call the Police for writing a poor Review. I used to write for Trip Advisor and had over 85,000 readers. I returned as this story had to be told accurately and truthfully. Horrible people.

Nothing is updated. Staff was okay at best. Not a great location and way overpriced. Looks nothing like the photos online.

HORRIBLE experience at this hotel- it smells like curry in the entire hotel, we walked in our room and our toilet was full of urine stains, hair in the shower, and stains all over sheets and towels. This was a last minute reservation and when we attempted to speak to the lady at the front desk she was dismissive and RUDE! save your money and go to a hotel that actually takes pride in their reputation and offers clean and sanitary conditions to the room!!

Les serviettes n'étaient pas propres, chambre insalubre , accueil lamentable , ....

No frills and very comfortable for my needs. The owners are super nice and accommodating. My only complaint would be the watery weak coffee but I will definitely stay again and bring my own coffee.
