Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Batesville

while I understand several states had a winter storm. We had made reservations back in Dec. I arrive to be told that my reservation had been canceled. I said I didn't cancel my reservation. The lady working behind the counter said "No we canceled it". I said well it would have been nice to get a phone call to let us know. She said you booked thru a 3rd party so they should have got a hold of you. We'll I work at a hotel and regardless of a third party booking we always personally contact the person who made the reservation if there is a problem. I have worked in hospitality for 23 years and I find this very unprofessional how this was handled. so then we ha e to drive further trying to find a hotel because most of them are occupied. so had we even had a days notice of what was going on that would have helped us out on our trip...So I'm not sure what your protocol is at the front desk but reaching out to guest is apparently. not one of them.

Location.

The room wasn’t cleaned properly. Had a smell. They didn’t have any face towels, the staff had attitudes!

Reall6 friendly staff especially Jamiir, evening check in cleark.

Price went up 35$ after I canceled. Same room same type. Will look elsewhere next time.
