Lots of old-world character and friendly staff. Excellent location in Halifax.

The Lord Nelson is a beautiful hotel. The lobby is stunning with its high ceiling and chandeliers. Check in was very easy. I was served quickly and I was able to store my bag easily and explore while I waited for check in time as I did arrive early. When I did check in, everything was explained in good detail, including the amenities. I love that you can go to the YMCA down the street and that it's included as an amenity along with their on site fitness centre. I stayed in petite room which was still a good size and well appointed with good value for what I paid. I also got their breakfast offer and the voucher allowed me a coffee and a smoked salmon Benedict, which was very good. The menu for all meals is a good size and the food is great. I also ordered room service and got the gorogonzola spaghetti. The food was served promptly and the service was very friendly. A wonderful stay in a charming, clean, friendly hotel that is deserving of its 4 stars.

Visited Halifax for an event at the University and stayed on to visit relatives and look around the area. Great location, friendly staff (are all Canadians friendly? Seemed so to us), large room with free coffee and water. Overall good value and pleasant stay.

"Close to VG hospital. Great staff, nice room"

We stayed for a medical procedure at the victoria general, its very close Staff were great the room was very nice. The coffee machine in the room makes amazing coffee. Would definitely stay there again

"Pleasant Stay, Friendly Staff"

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were comfortable, and the facilities were excellent. While there was a small confusion about breakfast being included, the staff was polite and helpful. We would recommend this hotel and appreciate their efforts to make our stay enjoyable.
