Location is great

Rooms were very rough and need immediate renovation

Awesome experience

I generally am a big fan on this property and have stayed multiple times. However, I was assigned into a room that had not been renovated in a while and there were a serious number of maintenance opportunities. If I didn’t know they usually do better and if I didn’t love the area so much, they might have lost me. As is, the fam started talking about trying other hotels in French quarter due to the maintenance issues.

Rooms are in disrepair. Restaurant is ridiculously expensive - breakfast was $66 for two of us for cold eggs, etc. Coffee and juice were ‘extra’. Hotel room was expensive and tiny - no place to put your feet up or to even unpack- don’t think about staying more than a couple of days. Bathroom door barely slid - if you got it to close it was problematic getting it to open. The valve in the shower was not secure and a challenge to regulate. Let’s not mention the four foot deep ‘jacuzzi’ you had to climb into to shower.

Prior to flying into Charleston, I called the resort to see if they had a shower chair to fit into their shower at the Harbor resort and was told to request one at check-in. When we checked in and requested a shower chair it didn't fit. They didn't have one to fit and didn't offer to move us to the Beach Resort where that shower could've accomodated a shower chair. The staff acted like they didn't care and wasn't concerned for my friend's safety at all. My friend and I talked to the front desk multiple times and was told we would get a phone call after they spoke to their boss and we never received a phone call. I had asked if there was a room available at the Beach Resort and was told a King Room was and asked them to hold onto if for my friend and would speak to them after they spoke to their boss. When I went back to the front desk and stated I didn't receive a call, they said no rooms were available at the Beach Resort. While I was at the Beach Resort's pool, I had overheard the guest next to me say she got a King Room upgrade. To say I was disappointed with the customer service from this resort is an understatment. For that reason alone, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Recently spent a week at this property as I was in Charleston for a business conference. The location has a superb location with easy access to the downtown area, but not in the middle of it. My room was a decent size, with a comfortable bed, great pillows, and very clean. Furniture is somewhat dated and lacking modern amenities such as USB ports to charge devices and desk to work. There were two aspects of this hotel really surprised and disappointed me. 1) The shower experience was abysmal. Water was either extremely hot or cold. There was simply no middle ground. To make this even worse the water pressure was such that it felt like you were showering using a small water bottle. This issue was not limited to just my room since among my group of 20+ people over half reported the same issue. Many of us reported to the front desk this problem, but nothing was done. 2) The breakfast buffet at the Fish House was mediocre at best with a very limited selection. What made the breakfast experience worse was the lack of interest of the staff to provide any kind of service even when it was limited to just bringing you a coffee or your check. Overall, this property could have potential, but it needs to remedy basic issues that a traveler either for leisure or business expects of a property with "Resort" on its name!

Non English speaking housekeeping:( came in and they were using our power phone chargers for their phones. Had to ask for trash can liners
