Harborside at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina

Do NOT stay in Harborside. It’s the ugly stepchild (sorry to all the ugly stepchildren out there) of the property. Dreary, dirty, dismal. If you are set on staying at this property, choose The Beach Club. I know you don’t know me, but trust me. Newer and nicer with larger accommodations and beautiful bathrooms. Two major pools on the property. The original pool on Harborside attracts no one and has no poolside services. The nice pool is off The Beach Club and has access to the Tiki bar and covered seating for food. Both pools are available to all guests. The sand areas for nighttime activities are dirty. Watch where you walk. Bottle caps, cigarettes, straws and trash of all kind just raked in. Abysmal service at the Fish House for breakfast, lunch or dinner. WAY understaffed. They need to step up their game since it’s the only food offered on/near property unless you go into Mount Pleasant. (They comped 100% of our 6 top because they knew service was so bad) NO coffee shop. They offer commercial sized Keruig stands in the lobby of which one was broken the whole time creating a line through the lobby for people wanting a crappy cup of coffee. You’ll need a car to be able to drive into Mount Pleasant for something other than instant coffee with powdered milk options. As a business retreat or vacation destination, $400+ per night is WAY TOO HIGH for this place. Many other options.

We loved the location and accommodation. It’s was a fantastic place to stay. It’s beautiful and pools are great. I love the nautical vibe.

The food was just okay. Not much was offered for breakfast the bar closes at 10. And, unfortunately there aren’t other options close by.

I have stayed here before and everything was great. Great location, room is nice, overall resort is nice.

When we got to our room, it was really nice until I turned on the AC. When the AC was on there was water dripping from the AC “vents” to the floor so the floor gets wet. We had to lay a towel. Then when we use the shower, the bathroom floods. We had to put towels down again. The glass divider had spaces and let the water go through and leaks. We had to use most of our towels for the floor. We stayed at room 202. I didn’t bother calling cleaning service for it, just thought it will be fine w towels. I had to wring the towels and keep soaking the water from floor. For the price of staying there it shouldn’t be this way..

Location and view.

The bed made horrible noises and the mattresses were off balance to there bases but mostly importantly there was never any hot water! Which comeing off an 8 hr drive made the experience horrible.

Didn’t go to breakfast because it was too far away. The location of the resort was nice.

Shower impractical. Half door made a mess. Bathroom should come with a mop. A/C didn’t work the 1st day.

Our room had an excellent view. The balcony was nice. We could walk to restaurants and the battleship, added bonus.

There were many different conferences going on at the resort. It was so noisy, couldn’t relax on the balcony due to noise levels. The room wasn’t that great for the money spent. The toilet in the room was loose and rocked and hit the wall every time it was used. The room needed a refresh on paint. The views and restaurants truly was the only good thing here. The noise levels were too much for a truly relaxing vacation.

Location and trolley into Charleston.

We had very noisy neighbors across the hall from us. Our room was very tight and also there wasn’t a microwave.
