Hotel St. Marie

This was our first stay at this hotel. It is conveniently located to the downtown area of the French Quarter. Most everything was within walking distance. And, to the staff, I award each of them an A+ The rooms were very clean and quiet. The atmosphere was pleasant. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we visit New Orleans.

We checked into what turned out to be a terrible Airbnb for the first night of a 4 night trip, and we found Hotel St Marie on Hotel Tonight app for the remainder of our 3 nights (though we booked direct instead of with Hotel Tonight). All around amazing experience at Hotel St Marie. They staff the front desk 24/7 so there is always someone to help. The main doors have key-only access at night and security at all times. They were super accommodating in holding our bags at check in and check out when we arrived too early for check in and had more time before our flight after check out. They gave us a call when our room was ready for early check in. We were always greeted with a smile at the front desk and often by name! The bar/cafe was fantastic (try the lemon raspberry scone - it does not disappoint!). The courtyard was beautiful and it was shockingly quiet for staying a block away from Bourbon St during the French Quarter festival. Close to everything! Our bed was made up every day by housekeeping. We would 100% stay here again.

Location and facilities. Easy walk to landmarks. Beautiful pool and great accommodating staff.

Slight issue with the plumbing and failure of door lock. However, these were quickly rectified without drama.

A wonderful place to stay. This was my 3rd and friend’s 7th visit to New Orleans but our first stay at Hotel St Marie. Seven friends joined us for their 1st visit. The consensus by all was that the hotel was in a great location, staff was exceptionally helpful and informative and rooms unique and welcoming. The courtyard proved to be a serene place to gather. All rooms were reserved with a balcony that overlooked the beautiful courtyard. A great way to begin the day with a tasty breakfast from the restaurant or just a beverage. When returning to New Orleans the Hotel St Marie will be the choice.

Just steps from the corner of Bourbon and Toulouse, you can't beat a stay at Hotel St. Marie. Check in was a breeze, as we pulled up to valet. No rush, the gentleman helped us gather everything and led us to the front desk. After our hotel check in, the bellman took us on a little tour of the bar and courtyard area (pool) and told us about the amenities available. We had a King Junior Suite that was in the building next to the main hotel. We had to walk through the breezeway (covered), actually where you pull up for valet and into another building. We were right on the ground floor and in fact our windows were on the Toulouse sidewalk. They are covered in plexiglass so they can't be opened for safety and security. But it was still fun to look out and people watch. The room was gorgeous! Massive bathroom, comfortable bed and lovely sitting area. We were in 603. The room itself almost looked like an add on at one point. Original brick walls throughout the room really gave it the historical feel and look. It was authentic and different for sure. There is a smaller quieter courtyard attached to this building. It is an interesting hotel because there seem to be rooms just tucked everywhere. It is the first time we have stayed in the French Quarter and we were spoiled. Steps from everything. We never moved our car as there was no need to. The valet parking availability was part of choosing this hotel. I didn't want to fight with street parking or having to park blocks away. I knew parking was a premium in the Quarter so just be prepared. Parking was $42 per day with a tax of $5.57. One thing you will realize as you stay in NOLA, they love to tax their hotels. I must say it will be hard to stay at another hotel in the quarter in the future, I am so in love with this one.

We had a room on the street which had a brilliant balcony in the sun. Room was a really good size as well and so close to all the action.

I recently spent five nights at Hotel St. Marie with three other ladies for a girls’ getaway. The location in the French Quarter was excellent and made it easy to explore the area. Our room faced the front of the hotel, which meant it got quite noisy on Friday and Saturday nights due to the proximity to Bourbon Street. The hotel itself has a charming feel, and the gentleman who assisted us with our luggage and other needs was truly outstanding—he was a highlight of our stay. However, we were disappointed with several aspects of the room and service. We booked a superior room, but it was unclear what made it “superior.” The room lacked décor, had poor lighting for reading in bed, and did not include a microwave. The bathroom was extremely small, and there appeared to be black mold along the outer edge of the shower. Housekeeping was also a major issue. Daily cleaning was essentially nonexistent unless we specifically requested it. During our five-night stay, the sheets were only changed once—on the fifth night. Dirty, wet towels were left in the room, trash was not emptied daily, and the beds were often not made. For the price we paid, we expected a much higher level of comfort and service.
