Amanzi Hotel, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Review - Amanzi Hotel, Ventura, California Rating: 4.0/10.0 Room: king room king bed, first floor Price: $404/2 nights Location: heart of historic downtown Ventura, California This is a newer hotel, an Ascend collection hotel by Choice Hotels, and for a vacation spot I honestly expected better for “boutique.” The hotel seemed to look nice from the photos but that's on me. The room was a wreck, the water had no pressure, the bathroom ceiling had obvious water damage, the shower curtain was falling off, and the shower rod was completely off the wall. The breakfast was nice and the staff were kind. Those are the only nice things I can say. Oh, the TV worked and the bed was comfy and the fridge was efficient and kept things cold, so that's a few other things. But it wasn't enough to save a failing score. The room was rotten and smelled of decay and while housekeeping was prompt and efficient, the room still felt unclean and was stained. A 4.0/10.0 on the Brooke In The Air Travel scale

Clean room, nice smelling towels and sheets (Smelled fresh!) Roomy Room. Nice Breakfast, great breakfast service!

Outside Highway Noise coming through the HVAC system. (Needs some sound baffles or other sound deadening in the Master Suite of Room 250.

Breakfast was exceptional! Such a wide variety of healthy warm cooked foods (meats, eggs, steak and veggies potatoes), bagels, fresh fruit, etc.

Bathroom floor a little cleaner. The rest of the room was comfortable and spotless.

Loud, cleaning chemical smells were extremely unpleasant, very dim lighting in rooms, not cozy at all

Breakfast was great! Complimentary drinks and snacks in the afternoon was a nice cherry on top.

Left my sketchers jacket their when I left noticed I left it on my way home. Called them to let them know what happened that I left it in the closet in the room I stayed in. Left my information with them but haven’t received a call back yet. So I guess they took my scetchers jacket. Not to happy about that

It was a really great location and easy to get to freeway, dining, and other areas of interest. The bathroom was super clean. The view from the balcony facing east was a pretty sight of trees and greenery.

The carpets were filthy. In the room and in the hallways.
