Hampton Inn & Suites San Clemente - Fully Renovated

Stayed here for our wedding weekend. We stayed while hotel was under rennovation. We were told there would be no renovations during our stay when we originally booked. I had a block of 22 rooms + some that booked outside the room block. Days before the wedding the ones outside the room block gets cancelled. Management never gives me a call back to address these issues. When asking for a person in charge at check in I was told they would call me - never did. There was safety concerns as well - front desk was giving room keys to rooms without identification checks. It happen many times in the 2 days we were there.. I've seen it first hand. Someone in my own room block had been checked into someone else room as well. One of my rooms I booked didnt have power to the living room and they only extended 20% off which is not acceptable. We found out late at night after our wedding and was told thats best they can do. I worked for Hilton and managed two properties and also spearheaded renovations so what they did is not right. I wouldn't recommend anyone having a wedding or event in San Clemente to stay here. They may sound nice over the phone but once they have your money they disregard you. The price was may be really good but have to remember you pay what you get.. meaning poor service and headaches. You are better off staying in Dana Point and making that 10-15min drive if you want to stay at a Hilton property.

The hotel is under construction and the noise level is deafening. The pool Jacuzzi and gym are closed and the elevator is working intermittently. We went elsewhere!

AC in room didn’t work properly. Ice machine on our floor was broken. Spa by pool not working.

The bed was nice.

The TV in the bedroom did not work. I could not get room temperature above 66. There was only decaffeinated coffee, no sugar or creamer in the room. The only eggs at breakfast were hard boiled. I did get a 15% discount and a free bottle of water and a bottle of milk.....big whoop. The last time I stayed at this location there was fecal matter stain in the toilet. THIS is not what I expect from the Hilton.

Nice getaway close to home! Although our room’s ocean view window was right above the freeway, we NEVER heard any traffic noise! Great ocean front views. However, rooms with the balcony are on the North side of the hotel, overlooking the Community Golf Course. Really great staff!!! Really good breakfasts!!

Didn’t like paying $22/night for parking. The parking accommodations are not that special to warrant the extra charge.

Awful. Avoid! Dark dingy smelly. Pictures on website are not of hotel in its current state! Plus we walked into a room that had someone else in it as the bookings were messed up v v disappointed.
