Location was nice. Food was reasonable although not a la carte as stated on the menu.

The rooms were dirty and dusty. Wallpaper was pealing off walls, cobwebs and old spectacles were behind radiators, carpets were filthy with what looked like snail trails along the edges. At no point were we prompted during booking or via the hotels guest portal regarding taking our dog so we ended up in a lesser room (hotel listed as pet friendly with no mention of that being only certain rooms on booking.com) and were made to feel awkward about it.

The location was great for the area we were interested in walking through. The villiage is small but had a useful shop and cafe. The pub was traditional in style and is in general what you might expect from a normal village pub! The staff were friendly, and went out of their way to help my daughter connect with a National Park employee for the geography project we were doing field work for. Thank you!

It depends on your expectations, but the pub and rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade. The food was your standard pub-grub, and could be improved upon. However, we were expecting a little local pub with rooms above and so weren't all that bothered.
