Matisse Bed & Breakfast

All good!

A bed and breakfast without the breakfast…. We did get the cost of our breakfasts reimbursed, but it wasn’t the experience we hoped for. Needed to use our car to get into the town center. A reasonable spot to stay, but not “exceptional “

We had a wonderful stay at Matisse B&B. It was very quiet and relaxing. We had one breakfast at the local golf clubhouse where we dined while looking out over Lake Ontario. Another day we ate a delicious breakfast at a nearby restaurant. Breakfast was included in the cost of accommodation. We found the town to be very walkable. We enjoyed the Shaw Festival, Fort Henry, and winetasting at a local winery/vineyard. Matisse B&B was our "home away from home" ... a comfortable place to return to in the evening.

BED BUT NO BREAKFAST ON SITE. Pros: located near central Niagara-on-the-Lake. Comfortable bed with ample closet space. Clean. Front door required a code to enter. The owner/manager John was friendly and informative when he met us to allow us in. Cons: No breakfast is offerred on site which is weird for a B&B. You have to go to one of 2 nearby restaurants and John will deduct the cost from your final bill. Not convenient if you are expecting to eat on site. John does not stay in the house while guests are there overnight which we thought was uncomfortable. Room 1 has no ensuite bathroom. You have to go across the hallway to access your own private bathroom. I had asked prior to arriving whether each room had its own bathroom which we were told "yes". it never occurred to us that it would be located outside the room!

Some noise from the street

Host was pleasant, attentive, and easy to contact. He took time to answer questions and suggest interesting local features. Room and property were clean and well supplied and decorated. Would highly recommend this.

Lovely, well-located bed and breakfast.

The host (John) was very kind and helpful. He gave us many good recommendations for things to do in NOTL. The accommodation was cute, clean and comfortable. There is a beautiful, shady yard to enjoy and we were glad we could walk to everything. Rather than having breakfast at the house, John said we should just send him a pic of our breakfast receipt and he reimbursed us for it! We think that’s a great option.

Everything was nice

Everything was as stated. Very clean and professional. Location offers an enjoyable walk to the highlights of Niagara on the Lake. Would definitely stay again!
