The Lodge at West River

Great spot for our trip to see the eclipse in April 2024 and for Vermont sightseeing. Very clean, comfortable room. Pet friendly but no smell of others having pets there. We'd definitely stay here again.

Very clean, the staff is great, the breakfast was very good. Fresh muffins, homemade muffins and breads.

David greeted me warmly and gave so much local information. I asked about the EV charger and although it was in use when we got there, it was available and so convenient when we got back from dinner. He even offered to move us to a room closer to the charger, but I said not to bother. The building is not so big that it is any inconvenience to walk the length of the building. Bottom line, we have been pleased so far. It's a shame we are only here for one night. This would be a great home base to explore the area.

We stayed to see the eclipse the next day in Peacham VT. We wanted to be away from the crowds. We had cinnamon raisin toast and oatmeal for a quick breakfast. The room was clean and and fresh smelling as a non-smoking room. The bathroom was clean , the beds were comfortable, the hotel was quite and peaceful at night. TV was great with our Netflix account. The front desk staff was very courteous and polite and helpful with info about nearby events and services. All said it was a great stay.

I never usually stay at a motel but this was the more affordable option given the proximity to all the name brand mountains. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and the welcoming nature of the office and shared space (first and 2nd floor). The 2nd floor is where they serve a nice breakfast spread, with tv, books and games and some tables -- a nice second option for when you dont want to be in the motel room, or when you get take out dinner and want some tables. It snowed overnight and the employees clean the snow off your car. great service!!
