Torel Palace Porto

You would be foolish to stay anywhere else. We travel a lot, and when I say a lot I really mean it. In the first 4 months of this year we have been to the Galapagos, Panama Canal, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and now Portugal. I will say that from check in to check out the service was bar none the best we've had. Every single person we encountered working at the hotel treated you like an old friend. It was incredible. I loved the theme of the hotel and we stayed in room 1 which, in my opinion, is the prettiest room in the place. If I ever go back to Porto I will not stay anywhere else. I also want to recommend their restaurant, Blind. We did the 12 course tasting menu. Such a unique experience and absolutely amazing food! I'd do it again and again and again. We recommended the dinner to another couple who went. Our menu was very heavy in seafood courses (which we love), but the husband of the other couple can't eat seafood and they happily accommodated him. Be sure and let them know if you have any restrictions and if possible ask for Cesar as your waiter you will be happy you did.

Wonderful hotel; the staff were exceptionally attentive and friendly. Lovely attention to detail and small touches. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've encountered. I got very lucky with a room upgrade also.

This is a great option to stay in Porto. Exceptional location, wonderful staff, comfortable and clean room, and excellent breakfast.

The lighting in the bathroom area needs improvement.

Beautifully restored 19th century palace with artistic/literary themes throughout the building, but completely non pretentious. so characterful! The location is excellent in Ribeira. visitors new to Porto: be prepared for some steep hill-walking. Breakfast and the pâtisserie in the Bibliothéque are excellent. The service was highly attentive, especially Lorena who always showed frictionless presence and anticipated our wishes

It is a beautiful hotel - Great Location. Breakfast is good and lobby is beautiful but not many places to sit in lobby and socialize. Staff is super nice especially the front desk staff. The valet who parked our car was also very nice.

The issue we had were the beds were so uncomfortable. They were hard as a rock. Also there were two of us not a couple so we wanted our own bed. When we made reservation we requested room with two beds. When we arrived it was one bed and they pulled them apart no problem but the small twin was so small and very hard. Also no sitting area to sit and watch TV as the TV was sideways to the bed not in front of the bed so very difficult to watch. Also were only given 2 small towels.

In 80 years of travel, I have been fortunate to stay in many wonderful hotels around the world, and Torel Palace Porto stands out as truly exceptional. For my taste, it is exactly the right size — intimate enough to feel personal, yet luxurious and beautifully maintained. The atmosphere of the building is elegant and welcoming, but what makes this hotel genuinely remarkable is the staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt cared for, valued, and warmly welcomed. Everything about the property reflects attention and quality. The hotel is immaculate, beautifully designed, and the rooms are lovely and comfortable. What impressed me most, however, were the thoughtful gestures that made our stay feel special. On several occasions, as we were heading out for the day, staff members would come outside with bottles of water for us to take along — such a small gesture, yet one that perfectly reflected their kindness and attentiveness. During our stay, my daughter experienced a medical issue which, thankfully, turned out well. The hotel staff responded with extraordinary care and efficiency, arranging for a doctor to come directly to her room within half an hour — on a Sunday no less. Their calm professionalism and genuine concern meant more to us than I can express. This is not simply a beautiful hotel; it is a place where hospitality is practiced at the highest level. I would return without hesitation and recommend it wholeheartedly.

Everything was just absolutely perfect and we felt like kings! The bedding, the comfort and size of the room!
