TownePlace Suites by Marriott Janesville

Pretty decent stay. Attempted to use the oven but the know appeared to be incorrectly installed and we burned our pizza which was a bummer. Room size was great for our family of three. I like to see a connecting door from the bathroom to the bedroom in a suite as to not disturb whoever has the pullout couch but it wasn't a huge deal. WiFi was terrible and we had to hotspot off our phones for our whole stay. We did stay at this hotel last year and it seemed to be a little more beaten up but it was still clean and comfy.

When we checked in, the only King room available was handicapped accessible. The smell of that room was horrible. Surface cleaning appeared to be fine but the odor indicated the carpet needed cleaning or replacement before any guest was allowed to stay there.

Very friendly and helpfull lady at the front desk. Very well equipped room. Full kitchen! Close to the interstate.

The mattress of the sofa bed could be more comfy.

I stay in over 75 Marriott hotels a year and this was my worst experience ever. After a 4 hour drive got to hotel. Tired I wanted to use the bathroom found dirty towels all over the floor, in the sink, and on the towel rack. Then saw the bed looked like someone just got out of it. Pillows still shown were the previous guest slept and cover sheet turned down. Looked like someone just woke up and left the bed. Went down to the front desk. The employee there said "Nothing I can do about it. We are sold out for the night" I replied I am not staying in dirty room. He said fine I will go clean it. He went off for maybe 5 minutes. I went back up to the room. He picked up the towels off the floor but the dirty ones were still on the rack. The bed looked very haphazardly made like my kids might have done it. The sheets did not look changed. l almost just slept on the couch I was so very tired. I knew if I went home it was another 3 hour drive. I could not do it. Went down and said I can't stay in a room with dirty sheets. I would like my reservation cancelled and not be charged. I am not staying here. He would not cancel my reservation. Said I could not have a free room. I didn't want a free room I was leaving. So I called Marriott. To my surprise they would not cancel it either. I had to get a Manager on the call to then call the front desk person to get them to cancel the room. As I was finally leaving for my long 3 hour drive in sleet the front desk person came running after me. He said " I will give you the room for free and promise this time I will change the sheets myself" So of course he lied the first time when he said he changed the sheets. I know accidents happen with the room being missed being cleaned but never once heard I am sorry or what can we do to make this right? No offer to call another Marriott in the next town for a room. Nothing but "Nothing I can do about it"

Friendly staff. Clean, quiet comfortable room. We pass thru Janesville often and will be making this our new go to place to stay.

I like the comvenient walkable dinning options. Did not like the building right next to the highway.
