Pagoda Hotel

Our trip to Oahu was very interesting. Pagoda room rate for Kamaaina was reasonable ($109.78) but then I read through all the charges. Tax and fees were $179, service fee was $17.99, they also charge Kamaainas a resort fee of $104.34, then there's a fee for other for $19.53. Who knows what that was for. Total paid at booking was $650.20 for three nights. Upon arriving, they charged for numerous things like amenities and more taxes which came up to $124.65. Total for our trip to Pagoda was $774.85 for three nights. Now for the room, it was nice but no daily cleaning. The pillows were hard we prefer softer pillows. They give you these $5 vouchers which we didn't understand. I guess it's for a $5 breakfast, but we thought it was $5 off our total. That wasn't explain properly. The good thing about Pagoda is that they are close to many stores and a short distance from Ala Moana but us kupunas, Uber comes in handy. Do all hotels charge this much to stay 3 days? Suggestions for our next trip, if we can afford one! Yes, the surrounding is noisy and so is the AC! So, despite all the charges and noise, we did get to see family and enjoyed that part of our trip to Oahu.

Comfortable room, with good security and a nice breakfast.

Old airconditioning unit was noisy and allowed street noise to enter the room. The hotel is close to shopping but a decent walk to the beach.

Great location, very close to Ala Moana. Facilities were good and the staff were very nice.
